Booking an airline flight is an exercise in the trade offs in value. For those who are value conscious they can fly stand by and get the least certainty of achieving their goal of arriving at their destination on time. In the middle of the value spectrum is coach where your seat is (relatively) assured, but service is minimum, and your experience in flight is not a high priority. At the top pf the cost spectrum is first class where you get top priority in seating, comfort, and in flight experience. The customer booking the flight makes their choice and gets the experience they pay for. Now imagine all the seats are the same price. What class would you fly? This is the world of real estate. If you are looking to hire a full service agent are you going to be flying stand by or first clas...

Shoes for Haiti We have all been moved by the recent events in Haiti, and many have stepped up to donate money to the Red Cross and other aid organizations.  The response has been astounding.   I would like to take a moment to ask you for a pair of shoes…. or two.  Please bring or ship new or used shoes to the Northstone Real Estate, Inc. 1495 NW Gilman Blvd #2 Issaquah, WA 98027 The story behind the shoes: In the following weeks after the earthquake a very good friend of mines colleague at work lost his daughter in the Quake.  He told me of the story of a young woman from the Port Orchard, WA area Molly Hightower.  Molly tragically lost her life in the Haiti earthquake.  Molly’s Mission was to help orphaned and disabled children in Haiti and one of her causes was to procure shoes for t...

Super Bowl Cure . . . If You Don't Like Cute . . . Stop Here! - - - The strategy for today was to take my wife Mary to some event that would offset my engagement in that All America pastime of gorging on the Super Bowl. So, the event we just took in this morning was a rabbit and cavy (guinea pig) 4-H show in Issaquah, to the southeast of Seattle. A small sample of the pictures is below. What I didn't figure on was learning from the leader of the group that its very existence is threatened by King County not funding as it did in the past. This is a real shame when you see young children enjoying an engagement with animals and having wholesome fun. We didn't see any video games in use. But, more on that rant about government's short sidedness in a future post . . . now on with the show . ...

Bank Owned Homes in Issaquah WA  Some of the best deals in Real Estate are REO or Bank Owned Real Estate.  Banks are in a hurry to sell a home and they intentionally price it 20% below the market.  A Bank Owned home is property that goes back to the mortgage company after an unsuccessful foreclosure auction. You see, most foreclosure auctions do not even result in bids. After all, if there was enough equity in the property to satisfy the loan, the owner would have probably sold the property and paid off the bank. That is why the property ends up at a foreclosure or trustee sale. Beware of Bears in Issaquah, Silent Sunday   This is just one of 5 bear carvings at a home I have listed that will close this week.  The home is in a neighborhood on Squak Mountain, an area that has the real thing too.  The trails around the mountain are a great resource and were recently featured in the Seattle Post Intelligencer. These carvings have been here for 25 years that I can attest to.  We lived in a rental down the street and always enjoyed seeing these friendly fellows.
