Onion River Sports will be hosting the Muddy Onion Bike Tour on Sunday April 26, 2015. Every month I get more tenants contacting me asking about possible rentals than I do landlords alerting me to vacancies. Yes, I realize that’s not exactly a scientific study. Lost Nation Theatre in Montpelier, which was named by the New York City Drama League as one of the best regional theatres in America, will be putting on its rendition of Arthur Miller's 'The Crucible' from October 10th - 27th, 2013.  This well known production has received the Tony Award for Best Play. It tells the story of the Salem Witch Trials and the hysteria which took place in Massachusetts during 1692 and 1693.  The play was written by Arthur Miller as an allegory of McCarthyism when the U.S. government blacklisted communists and exhorts the trampling of rights in times of crisis and confusion. Market Slice! Montpelier Homes in the $150,000-$200,000 Range There is a lot of interest in homes for sale in Montpelier in this price range, and for obvious reasons. This is affordable, you're still likely to get quality, and, at this price range, these properties are great for first time buyers. But there's a catch. Buyers are unlikely going to get that price in an "A" neighborhood. Very rarely does something come up in that range in College Hill, or The Meadows. In fact of the twelve sales in the past 12 months between $150,000 and $200,000 each of them were on the other side of Winooski River. Here's a link to those 12 sales. Today's Montpelier Brokers caravan was a little shorter (fewer properties on it) than I thought it would be. But still, it was a good mix. This time, we saw homes for sale in East Montpelier and Berlin as well as in Montpelier. Our office takes pride in strong participation in the local caravans. Six Realtors from Heney Realtors came along today as a way of gaining broader exposure to the housing market. We're still trying to figure out how some folks work out pricing using comparable sales if they haven't been inside the comparable sales. But I suppose that's another blog post.
