I was checking out listings in our MLS System today, going over properties in the $100,000 - $350,000 price range, and was able to find a few good finds, some properties in my area that I would like to preview. The only waterfront home under $200,000 in Mathews County is one of my colleague's listing, in Horn Harbor, it is called Horn Harbor Retreat, it is a mobile home on a foundation, a three bedroom 2 bath on almost an acre on Horn Harbor off Chesapeake Bay. It is very private, very secluded, it has a nice backyard, a dock that needs some TLC, a deck and an above ground pool that is going to be taken down. It is currently listed at $195,000. I wish I had more interesting things to talk about, but so far, Real Estate in Mathews, Va hasn't been very fair to me, and as it seems, to other seasoned agents as well. I want to specialize and focus on First Time Home Buyers and in properties under $350,000, which, amazingly enough, are the largest chunk of the listings in Mathews. It is nearly impossible to find a good house arond here for under $100,000 though. But once you go over $129,000, things start to look up and you might be able to find what you are looking for and it should fit your budget as well. Waterfront homes in Mathews, VA start at $195,000, which is a PreFab/Mobile Home in Horn Harbor, and from there on the cheapest waterfront property in Mathews you might find should be over $300,000.
