When looking at Charlottesville Real Estate one way to locate the perfect home is to Search Homes by School. It can really make good sense to search for your next home by school. Most people understand that real estate is all about location as we always hear Location, Location, Location. But one of the main things that drives value in real estate is excellent schools. This is one of the wonderful things about our area, we are fortunate to have highly sought after schools. This is one of the reasons that I created a way to search homes by school on our website.

Today is one of those days where there is a light rain and a bit of mist in the air. One thing about the weather in Charlottesville is that if you do not like, wait an hour or so as it will change. Having this kind of variety makes for a wonderful experience everyday and today is no different. When I went out this morning I just assumed that there was not enough rain to worry about.  Fast forward a couple hours and I got caught in it!   You know it is kinda fun to have a little change in the weather.  Tomorrow they are calling for clear skies, but you never know.

Halloween is upon us, and there are dozens of activities scheduled: hayrides, haunted houses, trick-or-treating, and parades.  I'll feature a few for the next couple entries.  What are you doing for Halloween? The Staunton Lion's Club will be holding their Annual Halloween Parade on Saturday, October 30.  Participants should meet at the band stand behind City Hall at 5:30pm.  Attendance prizes will be drawn promptly at 6:00pm for all children in costume.  Immediately following the drawing the parade will begin.  The parade route will travel east on Main St, south on Laurel St and end at the Lion's Club.  Participants will be treated to Hot Dogs and Soda at the club.

I went to Virginia's only art show devoted to hot glass artistry in Staunton, which is a community near Charlottesville. There were live demonstrations of glass blowing, flame working, bead making, slumping and fusing. What an interesting day spent down at the wharf of Staunton. Sunspots has live artists frequently and a wonderful selection of the artists creations. If you are looking for a wonderful way to spend an afternoon, this is an excellent choice.

There is a rise in homes selling in The Shenandoah Valley. Although, we did not slow down as much as most areas, homes were sitting more recently than over the last couple of years. Buyers are looking, Agents are writing contracts and Homes are selling. The market is healthier than potential sellers know. Too many are afraid to list their home, because they think it will sit too long. True, there are more homes to choose from, but that should not keep anyone from listing their home, it might have exactly what a Buyer is looking for.         Want to list and sell your home for what you and your Agent think it's worth? Here are some things you can do when you have your home listed and are ready to show:Open all shades/blinds - let the light shine in Make sure all trash is disposed ...

If you are thinking about purchasing a home this series of short lessons will provide you with some important advice.  Don't make the mistake of starting the process without taking the time to prepare.  It will make your task much easier. One of your first steps should be to run a Credit Report on yourself to be certain that there are no problems in your credit history.  There are web sites available to obtain a free credit report, and they are easily found on the internet.Next do an analysis of your current financial situation.  In other words where is your money coming from and where is it going.  While you are at it you should put together a budget based on your analysis.  More on this in a later lesson. As part of the budget process analyze how the purchase of a home will affect your ...
