While approaching the Williamsburg area along Interstate 64, motorists are met with a large sign, proclaiming the area as America's Historic Triangle.  The city of Williamsburg is located  between Jamestown Island to the southwest, which is home of the first permanent English settlement in the United States and the battlefield in Yorktown is the site where the Revolutionary War was won.  Yorktown is  southeast of Williamsburg.   The picture of my grandson with a chicken was taken at the Jamestown Settlement where the outdoor museum includes huts, small animals, a church and items that would have been found at the original settlement.
