Marketing homes at Lake Anna...When I list a home I like taking my own photos and then I use these to advertise the property. These photos are used for the listing on MRIS which is the multiple listing system that we use. I also use the photos for flyers that are prepared for both the inside of the and the box out by the road. The inside flyer differs with the ones outside containing more information as these are picked up by prospective buyers that have actually taken a look at the home. It is meant to remind them of the property's features in the hopes that it will be the home they select to purchase. Reading and relaxing at Lake Anna...a great way to spend your time. If you think you would like to spend some of your time doing just that but do not have a place to do it, let me know. In case you are curious as I was, that big book is the complete works of Jane Austen and my daughter-in-law was just about finished. We have lots of readers in my family and I love it. I was a big reader as a child and continue to love it. Finding enough time to do as much reading as I would like to do is, of course, another matter. I also find that when I take a book down to our dock I seldom get much read. Listening to the water, looking out at the water, taking photos, and so many other things seem to get in the way. Looking for a kayak at Lake Anna? I was and luckily I knew exactly where I wanted to go for it. Lake Anna's kayak hot spot. Kayaking is such a popular sport and one that my children and grandchildren enjoy so naturally they want me to do it too. To tell you the truth I was a bit apprehensive about it. After all I am 76, have never done it, and not in the best shape (believe me I'm being very, very kind to myself) so it made sense that I struggled with the concept of me actually out there on the lake paddling away. Loving Lake Anna even on gray days is easy if you see the beauty that I see. Maybe the bright, sunny days just seem brighter and sunnier in comparison but I think it is more than that. WATCHING THE STORM COME ACROSS LAKE ANNA One day recently we were down on our dock. It was a typical pleasant summer day when all of a sudden it began to get darker and darker. As we sat and watched we could see the threatening clouds form and even see the rain beginning to visually block the shorelne across the lake from our house. Where's the best spot at Lake Anna?  Through the 18 years that I have been selling here I have been asked that question over and over again. My answer has not changed through the years. Whenever Sean, my oldest grandchild, comes to be with us I lose my shadow.  Lindy, my pup, follows me from room to room whenever I am home.  However, once Sean arrives Lindy deserts me.  As much as I miss my shadow I love to see how happy and content they are together.  Sean is definitely an animal lover and Lindy senses that. In farm country there is such a thing as "barn raising".  Well, at Lake Anna we have our own thing.  It is called "boat shelter raising" and right now we have one going up at our waterfront.  It has been fun to watch.  Actually it was fun deciding on what I wanted...EVERYTHING.  That's not really accurate.  I don't want everything but I certainly do want a dock that will be large enough for big family gatherings.  In our family that can easily number 20+ so it best have run enough for that.
