Top 10 Real Estate MythsW/E August 17, 2013 Sponsored By: Charlottesville Real Estate 1. Working directly with builder saves thousands on commission fees while at the same time allowing builder to give you tons of free up-grades! 2. NEVER hire a Buyer Agent! The fees you the buyer have to pay out-of-pocket (usually 4% of contract sales price) are not worth it. Go it alone, there's nothing so hard about the real estate transaction - certainly nothing worth thousands of dollars! 3. Always buy the cheapest house on the block. 4. During these unsettled economic times, it's always best to buy new construction in order to get the best rate of return on your dollar. 5. Dollar for dollar, buying a newly built or to be built townhome, where there are hundreds of other similar properties and a si...

Which Mover Do I Choose? Tips From Charlottesville, Virginia Real Estate Expert Fulton Gaylord Moving can be an exhausting and sometimes trying experience. The only people that really enjoy it are movers. When choosing movers you have to take your time and make the right decision, according to Charlottesville, Virginia Real Estate professional Fulton Gaylord.   You will want to pick at least three companies to come out and give you their idea on how much you have. Some may not want to come out to your home and will try to give you a quote over the phone. This is not a good idea as people have different opinions on how much stuff you may own.   When you meet members of a company show them everything. Let them take notes so there are no surprises later. This is a common problem with mover...

A message for Clients When we do a home inspection we want you to be a part of it. But the truth is that it could take 2-4 hours for an inspection and it just slows down the inspector if you are constantly looking over his shoulder. Here is the best way to handle this: Just show up about 1 hour before we anticipate being done and we can review the paper work with the inspector. Then the inspector will walk you through the home and show you first hand anything he has found. This is just an efficient use of everyone's time. I am sure some will disagree with my use of time, but I would still love to hear others opinions?
