It's taken YEARS, but this week a much needed change has taken place at a very congested intersection in Lynchburg. Driving from Forest on Rte 221 (Forest Road) toward Lynchburg, there are now two turn lanes onto Old Forest Road at the intersection of Lakeside Drive. There is now one lane and no merge as you cross over onto Lakeside Drive. This has made the traffic flow so much smoother, ending the dangerous backup that only allowed approximately ten cars to turn left onto Old Forest Road through each cycle of the lights. MORE THAN 50,000 CARS TRAVEL THROUGH THIS INTERSECTION DAILY. It makes so much sense to have two turn lanes onto Old Forest Road, thanks to whoever made this happen! http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?formtype=address&country=US&popflag=0&latitude=&longitude=&name=&p...

Do you like a bargain? If you're looking for a great lunch at a reasonable price you have to check out Big Lick Tropical Grill in Lynchburg.  Located in front of Cattle Annie's on Rte 29 North, this restaurant has 30 lunch choices on its menu and daily specials. The food is great and the service is quick. The toughest thing is making a selection with all of the choices offered (I guess that means you have to go back!) The best news is all of the lunches featured in the menu are $5.50 and that includes a drink! With tax, lunch for two is $12.27, can't beat that.
