      I took the camera for a walk last night over at the farm right here in the middle of High Techville. If you haven't been there in a while, hop in the car and buzz on over to Kidwell Farm at Frying Pan Park in Herndon VA. The county recently put in a carousel for the kids and as always there were animals everywhere. Baby goats and twin calves were my favorites this time. Want to take your kids on a quick nature interlude that does not take advanced logistical planning? Feeling housebound?     Last night I wanted to work on improving my night photography knowledge. The sky was ripped with cloud shapes...a good time to give it a whirl. Where to go? Easy answer. If you have flown into Dulles International Airport, you probably noticed this very cool looking glass building peaking above the tree line off to your left as you head up toward the Beltway.                    What is it? It is the Center for Innovative Technology in Herndon VA. Known locally as: "You know.....that inverted glass pyramid building off the Dulles Toll Road" CIT recently celebrated 25 years of helping co-ordinate and advance Virginia's technology development.                                I love to photograph CIT for obvious reasons.This photo and the one below last fall's photo show captured the sky... 08/17/2011

The third largest jackpot ever awarded by the Virginia Lottery $107 Million,  was publicly claimed yesterday, 8/10/11, by Brian McCarthy,25, of McLean, Virginia. He purchased the ticket in July at the Giant Food Store on Elden Street in Herndon, Virginia. McCarthy stopped to get money from the ATM machine at the Giant and purchased a Lotto ticket at the same time, since the pot had grown to over $100 million. He didn't play any special numbers; he let the machine choose. The following day, McCarthy saw that WTOP, a local news radio station, had posted on Facebook that the local ticket was purchased at the Giant store where he had purchased his ticket.
