I post once a month on the subject of Diet and Exercise. This is mainly because of the fact that for years I struggled with weighing too much! As many of my readers have noted from my previous writings, I lost 52 lbs over a period of several years and have kept it off for a long time. I've often written posts on the subject of guarding and maintaining your Credit. Since I'm a Real Estate Agent, you can only imagine that I've done this for a reason. Whether you want to buy a house, a car or anything else on Credit, it is important to maintain a good, healthy Credit Rating so that you protect yourself from getting turned down when applying for a loan and if approved, even paying higher fees because of a low Credit Score. One of my favorite communities in Northern Virginia is the Town of Haymarket. Haymarket provides for both residents and visitors a nice small town environment that is filled with warmth and hospitality. The community has purposely preserved the Downtown Area and many of the older buildings in the community are still utilized. At the same time, there are wonderful restaurants, small shops and plenty of places to walk for enjoying the outdoors. FYI...  Haymarket, Fairfax and many, many other communities in Northern Virginia, often restrict the driving speed to 25 MPH in certain parts of their communities. Personally I think this is good because it helps to protect our Children, Seniors and Local Residents.Be advised when driving through these communities, the Police strictly enforce the speed limit and there is often an ADDITIONAL FINE of $200.00 PLUS the regular fine and costs. This will be posted when it applies.This is a law we ALL can live with. It is simply a Friendly Reminder for Virginia and Out of State Drivers who are driving in our beautiful communities.

I couldn't help but notice an article that crossed my desk earlier today in reference to Home Inspections. This particular writing talks about the kinds of things a Home Buyer should be aware of that a Home Inspector might discover. Personally, the items flagged in this writing should also be important to the seller and here is why: I've always been a huge proponent of Pre-sale Seller Home Inspections so that the seller can know what is going on before listing his/her house for sale. It is much better to have the house in great shape for the sale than to find major discrepancies from the Buyer's Home Inspector. I know there are some who will disagree with me, but I have always believed in "Presale Home Inspections" for Sellers. The reasons are many and I've written about them down through the years.Some time back, I came across an article on this subject that is worth the read: Don't Sell Without Presale InspectionMy thinking has always been, "Why wouldn't a Seller want a presale Inspection?" In fact, a sellers house will look much more credible as a result. Additionally, as the article states, buyers can and should still have their own Home Inspection completed. However, having a presale inspection certainly helps to tell a prospective buyer, the sellers are being very open about the condition of the house they have listed "For sale".

Sharon and I took some time off from Real Estate last week and journeyed back to my home town of Port Huron Michigan as well as a couple of other stops.The first part of our visit was to see my parents. I am truly blessed because of the fact, I am 65 years young and still have both of my parents. Mom is 86 and Dad will be 90 in September. Dad's health is failing but he still does very well. We found ourselves talking a bit about the past as well as current events. Most important, it was so nice seeing my parents again. After visiting with my parents, we journeyed down into Indiana and spent time with our son and his wife. Our son is currently working on a doctorate degree and loving it. My cell phone rang a few days ago with a call from a prospective client visiting my Gainesville, Haymarket homes for sale web site. He indicated he was looking to purchase a home soon but was concerned about his Credit Score being too low and didn't think he would qualify for a Mortgage. I urged him to go to My Fico and learn about Credit Scores, the role a Credit Score will play when making purchases on Credit and even more specifically, discover what his Credit Score really is.
