My phone is still ringing and questions coming from military families about eligibility for the Department of Defense Homeowners Assistance Program (HAP). Both photos in this montage were taken by my husband during the Blizzard of February 2010. The weather was not typical for a Northern Virginia winter. We are lucky in that we only get inundated about once every 10 years. There was a point where the hole dug by the squirrel to retrieve his/her "stash" was so deep you couldn't see the squirrel. It was a multiple storm winter with us receiving about 57 inches over the period. These two relatively new homes are about 10' apart as are all of the homes in the subdivision. It is not at all uncommon here in Northern Virginia to see homes this close. As in many major markets our dwindling supply of land reasonably close-in is almost non-existent forcing higher prices. When we are taking exterior photos we do our best to "stage" the property before we start snapping pictures. However, it is is not unusual for us to get home and realize there are unwanted items in the photos such as Garbage cans Hoses laying on the lawn Garden tools Kids bikes etc, etc. We do use photo editing software to eliminate the "garbage" For example, in the top photo there is both a bag of garbage, a garbage can and two power cables on the turf at the right side of the vendor's trailer As you can see in the photo below they were removed.
