When my clients decided to build we set out for quite a journey. Building a home is never easy, but it is very rewarding! You can actually get what you want! What my clients wanted was a first floor master with a large porch and a view! Not to much to ask for, but it did not exist. So we went ahead and built it in Old Trail, Crozet Virginia.Last week we did the main walk-though and my people got first had explanations of the systems in their new home.We got the first floor master, open floor plan and a grand view!It took some time, about 9 months but it was worth the wait! My clients/friends are very excited to move in next week and I am excited too!I love to make my friends happy!

OK, it is not my pond but it is an amazing spot. Located West of Charlottesville in Albemarle County is Beaver Creek Reservoir.   Just a great spot to enjoy the day.        Other than the fact that this is a nice lake, do you notice anything interesting in the above photo? Let me zoom in a little for you: Yes that is a man in a canoe enjoying this place all to himself. But look a little closer (wish I had a better zoom lens) and you will see he has his dog with him. We are so lucky to have such wonderful things to do in Charlottesville.  Now that is a great day!

When you list your home the goal is to get it SOLD  This does not mean to just list a home and get it on the market. If this is your goal then there are a lot of agents out there that will just "list" your home. Look around there is a lot of inventory. If you want to tell me what price you "need" that is fine, but do not be surprised if that is not what the market will bear... If we are going to sell your house we have to price it in today's market.   When I decide to work with you (yes this is a mutual decision, we are hiring each other) we are going to do a lot of work. In fact we will do a lot of market research together and the techniques I use will help us to not just price a home for the market, but to price a home to get it SOLD!This month I had one listing go under contract in a ...

Soon you will be able to Swim at the new Old Trail Pool! The plans are underway and if all goes well we will have a pool by Memorial Day 2008. With 8 lanes, a deep end and a section that will have a beach access it is bound to be a hit! The location is overlooking the 35 acre Old Trail Park, right down from the town center!I have mentioned Old Trail before, I have several clients there, including a home under construction with a client. It is nestled at the base of the Blue Ridge mountains in Crozet about 15 minutes to Charlottesville. I also own a investment property there as I see the value in the area! When you come to visit me in Albemarle County Virginia, let's take the short drive to Old Trail!Your Agent in CharlottesvilleCharles McDonald

We are expecting rain tomorrow (a slight chance of snow). I really can not imagine snow yet, but that is another story. Today I took a drive to visit the home of 2 different clients that are under construction and the colors were incredible! I was lucky to have my camera with me so I took a couple of pictures of our area in Albemarle County. This photo is an area where I have a client building a home in Ivy, Virginia (5-10 mins from Charlottesville).BTW, that is the famous Virginia Red clay...  These are some of those Famous Fall colors we have near the Blue Ridge! This is an outstanding tree that I just had to stop and take a picture of....More colors.....I hope you enjoyed these as much as I do?

In the Fall of 2008 Harris Teeter is slated to open in Crozet Virginia.  Some may say "big deal" well it is a big deal! Instead of driving 15 minutes to Charlottesville it will be a short drive (or walk) locally in Crozet.  It will be located on Route 250 near the Blue Ridge Building Supply. Just down the road from Western Albemarle High School and the new development "Old Trail"! With Blue Ridge views, come and see why Crozet is building up!See you on one of my tours!Charles A.     This is a new approach to community living and there are several areas on the cutting edge.   Old Trail is one such area. Located just outside of Charlottesville Virginia along the Blue Ridge Mountains in the small town of Crozet. This is just a wonderful area.   Old Trail Village is a mix of townhomes, signal family homes, shops and golf! It is still in development and is very exciting.   This "new urbanism, is a life changing idea (from the past) coming back into fad. Walk to the store, less cars, less smog a slower pace of life. There are 6 miles of walking trails, open fields and beautiful views!   This is a healthy lifestyle change for many. I have sold several homes and townhomes in Old Trail and am under construction with clients as I type this message.   Come see what "New U...
