Wildlife in Bristow, VA Just Got a Little More IntimidatingSightings of wildlife in Bristow generally range from birds as large as turkeys, turkey vultures and hawks and mammals from fox, raccoons and deer. It seems that the last few days there has been a larger fella lumbering about. The photo above (and all photos in this post are courtesy of a Kingsbrooke resident) who spotted this young black bear on her doorstep.Sightings of young black bears in Bristow, Gainesville and Haymarket are not unusual. What is unusual is that this one seems to be lingering around Bristow and not passing through. When their mother mudges them away, these youngsters must find their own territory.
