Sometimes mistaken as a hotel, the Atrium condominiums blends beautifully into the cityscape of Rosslyn. Situated at 1530 Key Boulevard in Arlington Virginia, this sky high condominium majestically sits on a hill between the Rosslyn and Courthouse Metro stations. Extensive renovations done in 2006 on the exterior and interior of the building includes glass enclosed front entrance, the grandiose lobby and foyer area. Aside from the breath taking sights of Washington DC and the Potomac River from the Atrium Condominiums, another highlight would be the convenience of the location. An Arlington shuttle having a bus stop in front of the building, the Georgetown metro bus lines across the street and a Pentagon City shuttle one block away between the Orange and Blue metro lines, are a lifesav...

Right across Eads Street, near to Crystal City metro is the community of Aurora Highlands. Aurora Highlands dates back to when Arlington County was still a sleepy rural suburb in Washington DC. Row of shops and restaurants grace 23rd Street in Crystal City making it an intriguing location. Summer afternoons can be spent in a sidewalk cafe at Aurora Highlands, snacking and just cooling down. Crystal City, Virginia lies along the Potomac River with breathtaking views of our country's capital and within walking distance of many hotels, restaurants, high-rise apartments and the National Airport. A large part of Crystal City is underground. You can shop and dine all underground which is great on rainy days. The Crystal Underground Mall opened in 1976. The mall is unique with the different types of stores it offers. Some of these include antique glass shops, Jeleff's Women's Store, Drug Fair, gourmet grocery stores, and craft stores. There are many government offices in Crystal City including satellite offices for the Pentagon, United States Department of Labor, and the EPA. Not lacking in the history department, Crystal City got it's name from the Crystal House which had a bea...

In South Arlington County lies Fairlington, a neighborhood made up mostly of townhouse apartments. Most of the structures were built in the 1940's during World War II and paid for by the Defense Homes Corporation. The name "Fairlington" was created by combining the county names in which it is located, Fairfax and Arlington Counties. Fairlington's history goes back as far as 1756 when the area was owned by John Carlyle, a friend of President George Washington. From 1861-1870 much of Fairlington was under military occupation. By the 1960's the area was owned by Hartford Insurance and in 1972 the buildings in the area were changed to apartments. In 1998 Fairlington was listed on the Virginia Landmarks Register and the National Register of Historic Places by 1999.   photo credit: Tony the ...

I recently went with my family and some out of town guests to see How to Train Your Dragon at the Arlington Cinema and Draft House, and it gave me some great ideas about negotiating in real estate. This movie is really a must see for anyone in the business, or in the middle of a negotiation of any kind. First of all, I must give mad love to this place. Definitely one or Northern Virginia's treasures. It's located on Columbia Pike, and easily accessible from Alexandria, DC, Arlington or Annandale. It usually plays slightly older movies, like between theater and DVD release. For a discounted price, you can go see a 3 or 4 month old movie, drink beer and eat junk food all at the same time. It also has stand up comedy and is a great place to watch sporting events. We stuck with the beer and...

Ballston, a city named after the Ball Family-who were related to George Washington, is a thriving city with personality nestled in Arlington County, Virginia. One of the oldest crossroads in Northern Virginia lies in Ballston. The crossroads began as Birch's Crossroads and became Ball's Crossroads. Now this area is the intersection of North Glebe Road and Wilson Blvd. This area has been a focal point in Ballston since 1740. In 1896, attention to this area was taken away with the coming of the Electric Trolley Line. In 1951 the attention was brought back when the Parkington Shopping Center opened at the Old Ball's Crossroads intersection. Clarendon is located in Arlington County, Virginia. In 1900 Clarendon was planned on a hill on Wilson Blvd. (formerly Georgetown Falls Road). Once streetcars came to the area in the early 20th century this part of Arlington County was very busy with travelers. The streetcars were in service until the 1930's. In 1920 the town was considered for incorporation but was soon shot down by the court system. However, it was selected for Arlington County's first post office. The Clarendon Metro Station opened in the 80's and offered the Clarendon area a diverse mix of shops, restaurants, bars, office space and apartments. Events are also held in Clarendon such as "Clarendon Day", which includes live music, rides, food, jewelry and clothing sales, and much more. Other events include CSC Invitati...

Arlington VA Homes - Make Your Listing Picture Perfect... The difference between selling Arlington VA Homes and letting them hover out there on the market can be a photograph. Words and detailed remarks can be helpful, but as the old saying goes, "a picture is worth a thousand words." Why choose a Realtor who will simply take a stock image from 1974 and plop it up there with your home's listing? If you see a telegraph or rotary phone in your property's listing, that may be a warning sign. Believe it or not, it happens quite a bit.   As a homeowner, it has to be concerning to see your home poorly marketed, with little effort put into the visual elements. No one is THAT busy to NOT take the 30-60+ minutes necessary to properly photograph a home and capture the unique nooks and crannies th...

3 or more bedrooms in Clarendon Many people consider Clarendon the center of Arlington's social scene because of its active nightlife and many dining spots. Clarendon offers tastes for every tongue from Texan to Thai food. The nightlife includes everything from salsa and ballroom dancing to blues or electro-modern. The post-modern high-rises along Wilson Boulevard stand along 100 year oaks, and just a few blocks away bungalows and colonials remind us of old Arlington County.
