Historic Sandy (Sandy, UT)

Resident Board of Directors   For those who might have read my post yesterday and noted my challenges that occupied my schedule and resulted in only a semi-terrific day, you might have thought that I had attracted a bad fairy that was hell-bent on my destruction via a necessary machine delivering intermittent results. Not so. Last evening was a time for summoning my alter ego "Mind Wizard". Mind Wizard is skilled in the use of hypnosis, neuro linguistic programming, lucid dreaming, guided meditation and other jiggery pook. His current task is to facilitate levitation for me; so how hard would it be to instill in me a renewed confidence to use my errant power chair again? I had been thrown (emotionally): I had to remount the beast. I added in sonics and binaural beat for good measure. An...

Thoughts on end of year farming in Sandy UT                                                                       Does the end of the year harden door responses or get people in the mood for more social interaction? We have had the recent wonder of Halloween and are not yet expecting Carolers ~ but who can really tell since the social calendars are on countdown, shops are rushing up decorations, sales are on. Leaves are down, City clean up is over, perhaps time to retreat indoors with an unattended front door. I still have traction (snow has stayed away, so far). Maybe time to squeeze in another farming run in Historic Sandy UT I live in Historic Sandy and have paid attention to regular farming activity right here. "Who do you know...?" etc. Repeated visits over the expended part of the...

A perfect Fall day for a ramble in Historic Sandy UT Some days are pure perfection. I am biased towards Historic Sandy UT. This is where I live. Some days make you glad you are alive; and we have plenty of them. We excel at perfection. A warm day. Fall colors. Leaves shimmering in their individual Autumn splendor. Some still attached, some falling, others giving a last swirl of recognition in light breezes. Sunlight bringing out the best in everything. Peaceful, unhurried surroundings. Pure bliss, so inviting of a neighborhood ramble. My power chair makes an ideal camera platform from which to record everything in digital detail. And I don't mind sharing. Don't you wish you were here? Come for a visit to Sandy UT. I might even convince you to make it your home. ps: if I had more of a po...

Sandy UT is well served by TRAX My city of Sandy Utah enjoys the services of the Utah Transit Authority light rail system TRAX. At Historic Sandy, we are a stop on the Blue Line (the oldest), easily linking to Red and Green lines with attendant bus services to allow the Salt Lake Valley to be easily accessible by public transport. Linking to FrontRunner takes you even further afield. Today saw the opening of the City to Airport extension of the Green line. With this airport link, visitors can now take in the sights and delights of urban Utah, historic features and modern facilities. All good reasons to put Utah on your places to see. Utah is not just a state "somewhere out there, and somewhere up in the mountains". We are a friendly welcoming people. At Sandy UT, I revel in the scenery ...

Farming in Sandy UT with Halloween decorations... that time of year Leaves are changing into their Fall colors..and falling. People are in their yards raking, even though with the breezes this might be a losing battle. My farm area in Historic Sandy UT has taken on a new energy. It's fine, it's warm(ish). Beautiful Autumn days. Friendly, receptive people... Among the delights of Fall, residents have carefully decorated their homes with an abundance of ghosts, goblins, skeletons, cats, witches, and of course, pumpkins. The western end of 9000 South with its pumpkin patches everywhere, the orange fruit of the vine ready for carving and decorating, is obviously responsible for the local supply. My three wheel, electric scooter is my vehicle of choice for easy contact with residents. It pre...

Well Served by Destiny A beautiful Autumn morning, a delightful time for a scramble (my version of a tactical outing on my 3 wheel scooter), fresh air with cool temperatures, fine and dry. The weather in Sandy UT at the moment is worth bottling. Sandy UT is a great place to visit anytime; it is a wonderful place to call home. After getting my photo updates, I remembered a bank transaction I needed to do. Zion's Bank sits on the busy corner of 700 E and 9000 S in Sandy ~ a mere 450 yards from my home. Since the 3 wheeler is more difficult to get into the bank lobby than my power chair (two doors need to be opened simultaneously) I put myself in the into the drive-thru line. Little traffic, so I was at the window very quickly. "Hullo, my name is Destiny, and I am so-o glad you came to see...
