The world comes to Salt Lake City Utah Twice a year (first weekend April and October) about 100,000 people come to Salt Lake City UT for the General Conferences of the LDS Church. This weekend greeted them with cool mornings, warm Autumn sunshine with the grandeur of snow on the mountains. Yesterday I took in the atmosphere of the 183rd Semi Annual General Conference. Sunday Best (even on a Saturday) was the order of the day. Well packed trains, TRAX blue, green and red lines, on 10 minute schedules throughout the day. I greeted Ukrainians, Russians, Germans, French, Italians, Brazilians, Africans, Peruvians... and even Australians (I am fluent in Strine). Visitors from many part of USA and Canada as well. The Conference Center holds 22,000. Nearby buildings take some of the overflow, f...

About Foreclosures in Salt Lake A lot of you still want to know about foreclosures in Salt Lake. Good buys on foreclosed homes are hard to find, and according to some sources will become even rarer in the coming months.. Not just here, In Salt Lake City, but all over the country. Some areas, like Phoenix Arizona, and Las Vegas Nevada have recently had foreclosure listings represent over half of the available homes for sale. They now are showing a substantial reduction in distressed inventory. In some parts of these cities, foreclosures are in the single digits as a percentage of homes listed for sale. That's true in the Salt Lake City Municipal Area as well . (That would include foreclosures in most of Tooele County). According to a recent Deseret News article, no city along the Wasatch...

Salt Lake Homes For Sale By Price One of the best ways to search Salt Lake homes for sale is by price. If you qualify to buy a $235,000 condo in SLC there is no reason to spend hours looking thru condominiums offered on the MLS for $300,000. You would only be disappointed by comparing more expensive units to those with features and location that you can afford.  Now that the market has returned to pre bubble days and sellers are not discounting as much ( there is no longer a need) offering to buy a house in Salt Lake for less than 90% of the asking price seems futile to me. A waste of time, and a strategy bound to back fire. I have had clients say " well it never hurts to ask". My response is to share stories about buyers that decided that a low ball offer was good business and lost a h...

There are actually more condos in Central City than there are in the Downtown area and you can get a bit more for your money. Ever been inspired by a vehicle you've test driven? I'm in love! I have to get one. An off road wheel chair. Swift, silent, all-conquering, tracks, camo coloring, gun rack, go anywhere, rock climbing, fallen timber, all weather, trail, snow or sand. Definitely intimidating. Liberating. A delight to drive. It's the Action Trackstander We met at the Utah Center for Assistive Technology Open House in Salt Lake City, October 1, 2013. Formal introductions by Tred Barta, Inc out of Colorado (970 328 5520). Instant attraction on first date.   See more of Trackchair's abilities at actiontrackchair.com ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Utah State Fair 2013 has it all The State Fair is Utah showcased. Still two full days to go. It's on at the fairground, easdily accessed by TRAX on the Green Line. For my day at the Fair we had it all. Much needed rain into bright sunshine with an intense double rainbow ~ the whole arch. Puddles left behind attracted every youngster around. Sideshows, crafts, displays, livestock, entertainment beckoned. Goats won my "livestock with personality" award, hands down. State Fair is a great way to sample the flavor of Utah. City and rural areas come together for the sixteen days that make up the Fair each year. It's well worth the experience. As always, I had a great time. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
