Using subterfuge to achieve a goal. The home owner called, saying he wanted a knowledgeable real estate agent who had the ability to reach outside the local area of southern Utah to get his home sold.  I set the listing appointment. He had previously listed his residence for six months with a brokerage that sells lots and builds homes. A mistake in my opinion. Their priorities focus on new construction rather than the resale market. Unknown to me or the consumer, he was holding open houses every day in an effort to sell. Life's a Beach in Ivins, Utah! Photo by Cindy Larson, Photographer Extraordinnare Thanks to the collaborative effort of the City of Ivins, the Washington County Water Conservancy District and the Shivwits Band of Paiutes, along with the help of many others, Fire Lake Park is now open to the public! The description “Fire Lake” is derived from the Shivwits name for the spot, it means reservoir. Canoe and paddle-boat rentals are available to rent. 7,000 cubic yards of sand was brought in to create the beach and swimming area. Ivins Reservoir is constantly being fed fresh water that will maintain year 'round usability thanks to the levee that was built. Ivins, Utah to build a medical school. The very first of its kind in the southern Utah area and the second medical school in the state! The facility will boast approximately 104,000 square-feet including adjacent student housing to be completed by June 2017. Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine campus in Southern Utah will be scheduled to open and begin accepting students by August 2017. The other school, located in Parker, has been in operation since 2006. In addition to the medical school, three apartment buildings will serve as student housing and located on Center Street and 200 East in Ivins, on 30 acres near the Southern Utah Veterans Home. The Snow Canyon Clinic will serve as administrative offices and clinical practice.
