Castroville Texas was founded in 1844 by Henri Castro, a French impresario and close associate of Sam Houston. Castro recruited many of the colonists for his new town from the Alsace region of northeastern France. Over the years, these settlers would build a community that more closely resembled a European village than a frontier town in Texas. (information gathered through the tour-Texas.com website) Castroville is located in Medina County located west of San Antonio Texas, township is influenced by the Alsatian-Texan Architecture and culture. Real Estate in Castroville Texas market update for the past three months: This is an over-all market report using all listing and sales during the past three months from the San Antonio MLS. Happy Halloween Y’all Halloween is the evening before the Christian holy days of All Hallows' Day (also known as All Saints' or Hallowmas) The tradition originated with the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, when people would light bonfires and wear costumes to ward off ghosts. Don’t forget to set your clocks back one hour tonight and have a safe healthy weekend. PS. I had a great pumpkin photo I was going to upload but the AR fairies wouldn't allow it today???

Country Blessed Living at It’s Finest with Rocket the Raccoon. Jim and I moved from Austin TX two years ago and bought a small ranch in Medina County just outside of San Antonio approximately 50 miles from the city lights. Our ranch is located in the Texas hill-country about fourteen miles from Bandera TX known at the “Cowboy Capital of the World”. When I’m not working with clients selling real estate we take our three Lab-dogs out for their morning ride down a bumpy country road approx 16 mile which loops back to our house. Our Labs enjoy seeing wildlife; deer, feral hogs with the occasional cows.On one of our morning drives we came across a very small baby raccoon pup on the side of the road. It’s mother was nowhere to be found and the rule is to never disturb stray baby animals becaus...

How's the Bunny and Egg connected to Easter?(Lauren Effron with Discovery News) writes a good article)Please click on the link above to see Lauren full articleAccording to University of Florida's Center for Children's Literature and Culture, the origin of the celebration — and the Easter bunny — can be traced back to 13th century, pre-Christian Germany, when people worshiped several gods and goddesses. Do you think Facebook is dumb?  Think again! I know A LOT of people who think Facebook is just downright dumb.  I hear comments like: "I don't care what time you got up and whether you're eating Italian or Chinese for lunch". "Facebook is just a waste of time". "It's ridiculous to use Facebook for business - Facebook just gives your computer viruses". If you're on Facebook, like I am, you have probably heard these lines before.  Even my husband detests Facebook.  He just doesn't get it. I, being a social creature, love the interaction.  I love seeing what everyone is up to - how vastly diverse my sphere-of-influence really is.  I also love using Facebook for business! I have my own Personal Page as well as a Business Page.  When I have friends on my Personal Page who I think might be in...
