    Three years ago my son Zak told me he believed that God was calling him to full time ministry. You would need more background than one post to understand what I am about to say but suffice to say I did work a bit at talking him out of it. After 30 years of full time ministry 18 of them as the Lead Pastor over 2 churches, I have a little perspective on this calling.  We took the next couple of weeks to fast and pray. In the end he and I were very convinced that it was God speaking to him. Since that time Zak has been preparing. Newland Real Estate Group LLC bought the land for an undisclosed price in a joint venture with Japan's largest homebuilder, North America Sekisui House, according to the Austin American-Statesman.   It is always about this time of year that I really miss football season. In Texas football is huge. High school football can draw bigger crowds than many Collegiate games played across the US each year. Friday night lights is the practice of thousands. I love it all. High school football, college and the NFL! In central Texas there are some real powerhouse High school football teams. Lake Travis, Cedar Park, Georgetown. It will be a fun year of football.     Up at 6 to take my wife to the airport. Got her there by 7:30am. Drove to coffee shop catch up on email and confirm today's appointments. Stopped by Title to Drop off a contract for a listing we have.  First meeting a couple who is turning in an application for a property they wish to lease in Hutto, Texas. Six straight hours of meetings and work at Job number 1 (Ministry). Home to pick up Dkey and off to meet a couple looking at a lease propety in Georgetown Texas. They loved the first one and will file an app on it.  I took my middle daughter with me on this trip so we decided to have dinner together at a family favorite in Georgetown "Dos Salsa". This picture posted on our Grace Kids site really touched me. Parker is in the middle. He is handicapped mentally. He has a beautiful loving spirit. He wanted to stay after the service and sing some more so his brother Austin on guitar and his brothers girlfriend stayed behind to sing the songs with him.  We all live busy lives and pictures like this remind us to take the time to LIVE our lives and share them.  06/19/2013

  Up and down the street he went until he found my neighborhood and my neighbor. Homes have been selling in our area quickly. A nearby listing I had was on the market 22 days, had 17 different buyers view and 3 offers.  The TOP Realtor was armed with stats, professionally printed brochures and was dressed very well. He was well spoken and had a great smile. He had a card that said TOP REALTOR IN WILLIAMSON COUNTY. I later found out that the actual designation should have read the Top Williamson county, Keller Williams, Team Smith (team name changed). So what he was actually saying is that he had listed more homes than the rest of his team members and that he works primarily in Williamson County.  I digress though. Often my day has been lifted by just reading about yours.  I do want to add that you really feel like you get to know each other so well. There have been times when I have laughed, time when I cried. We have lost some friends. My mind goes back to Karen George who lost her battle to cancer. Many of you posted comments nearly everyday to keep her spirits up. Some of our friends just retired. I miss Carl and Ceil who would often post on my blog and it was always encouraging. We had a little Texas Hill country get together up in Kerrville.                                         We live in a face paced world. Information overload in many cases. Yet, do we take the time to think through the larger questions of life. Am I here by accident or divine providence? Is there purpose to life beyond existence? Is there life after death? It is good for us to take time to think through our world view.         Planted a peach tree about three years ago. It is still very small but loaded with peaches. They are incredible. I have been fighting the birds to perserve them but for the most part have been able to secure enough to cut up and freeze and in addition a cobbler or two. Love peach cobbler!
