New Braunfels, TX Real Estate News

I always begin to take down and put away on New Year's Day. Today is New Year's Day 2009. I have two beautiful Poinsettias, ONE LARGE AND ONE SMALL. The Ponsettias are the prettiest I have seen in a few years and I think I am going to give them a helping hand and let them live at our house.  Here is some information I wish I had when I first received my Poinsettias; this is  some information that I found on E-How that is helpful. When You First Bring Your Poinsettia HomeLight - Place it near a sunny window. South, east or west facing windows are preferable to a north facing window. Poinsettias are tropicals and will appreciate as much direct sunlight as you can provide. Heat - To keep the poinsettia in bloom as long as possible, maintain a temperature of 65 - 75 degrees F. during the da...

I recently helped a first time home buyer purchase a beautiful new home in Oak Run Subdivision in New Braunfels, Texas.  This young couple had been saving for some time and were very excited that their new purchase was such a stately home in beautiful New Braunfels.   I was so excited for them.   Because actually they got a great deal.  Being that the house was a new Perry Home, it was ready to move into!  The deals are still out there.  They got a great price from the Builder with some great incentives.  They used the Builders' Lender and received even more incentives and then they got an AWESOME interest rate.   Can you believe?  It's true.   Many people are out there thinking that this is "not the right time" to be making that investment into real estate.  I completely disagree with ...

Burrr... It was a chilly morning here in New Braunfels, Texas...  35 degrees when I left to come to work.  Yesterday the high was like in the late 70's early 80's (so warm in fact that I thought I had too many clothes on at lunch time!)....then the night came and the wind started whipping and then the rain came.   I woke up this morning to find the first little bit of ice, snow droppings on my new deck.... just thought I would share.   The funny part is that in South Texas you never know what your day will bring.  You could wear shorts during the afternoon and a winter wool jacket by the evening!   I love it!   outside my back door   hilarious my sons' flip flops outside the door!   and here is my Sago Palm....wandering "what the hell"!   Hope you enjoyed your morning where ever you wer...

Because I needed one more thing to accomplish.   My husband and I have been busy watching this going up in our back yard.     the back of my house   a work in progress                    The final project!   the sun rising this morning   geez, how beautiful is that view?   The rest of this post is a major plug for the guy that built this beautiful thing! The work was done by Jason Svoboda who owns Lone Start Fence and Landscaping 210-421-6975.  I couldn't of been happier with the workmanship, performance, attitude and professionalism of Jason.  It's obvious that even an untrained eye (such as myself) can see the quality of workmanship that went into making this puppy.  I said that I wanted a big deck and he asked me all of the right questions.  His attention to detail (my ideas vs. his ...

I just finished watching the Endeavour launch and what a magnificent sight. Every time I watch one of these shuttles launch I am amazed and glad to have the opportunity to sit in my living room and watch. They were concerned about a faulty latch up until the last minute but made the decision to go ahead with the launchof The Endeavour.                                                                   The Endeavour                                                         For your information: Endeavour is poised to blast off from its seaside launch pad here at NASA's Kennedy Space Center (KSC) on Nov. 14 at 7:55 p.m. EST (0055 Nov. 15 GMT) on a busy mission to prime the station for larger, six-person crews Mission STS-126 Orbiter: Endeavour Mission: STS-126 Primary Payload: Multi-Purpose ...

What does all this mean and why are we excited you ask? More jobs, More money into Comal County economy. These two giants would not be doing this if they didn't think this area of Texas would be shrinking.....No, No, No                           WE ARE GROWING. It's the good fortune once again for Comal County and New Braunfels Texas with Walmart and Ashley Furniture expanding the Distribution Centers.  When you see them rolling out onto Interstate 35 you know they are moving furniture to other areas.             Ashley Furniture recently unveiled plans to add to its distribution center also located on I-35.in New Braunfels, Texas. This also means adding more jobs to the local economy. Ashley needs a larger facility because of a planned expansion in the South Texas  Walmart distribution...

I had quite an experience this week that I wanted to share with you and will also give you a couple tips that may help when you are showing a home to a potential client. If you are the seller I suggest you follow the tips I posted below. First of all the front door was black...which you don't always see that many black doors. The outside still had Halloween decorations up which is OK. I had a strange feeling this was not going to be a normal home inspection (it was just a gut feeling). As I opened the front door I hear....Squeak, Squeak and the wider I opened the door the more it Squeaked. The curtains were drawn and I was looking for the light switch. Once I found the light switch my racing heart slowed a little. I can tell you...every door in that entire house Squeaked. Every door was...

Another reason to love New Braunfels, Texas.  The New Braunfels Independent School District was awarded a "superior" rating. What an awesome place to live, raise children in, play and work. It's almost here!  Yippee!   Mark your calendars and get ready to come to Texas, October 31, 2008- November 9, 2008.   Once a year New Braunfels, Texas throws a Texas size party!    It's called Wurstfest and this is no little sleepy town party!  There is something for everyone almost every day.  Let's see there is sausage eating, music, dancing, rides for the kids, food, food and more food (oh, did I mention the beer?)...don't forget about that one.     It's a great place to take the kids during the day to see the "sights" and a great place for the adults to mix and mingle later in the evening!

Love-Em   or   Hate-Em   they are still a very important part of our daily llife. Trains that is:  Why is it everytime I go to New Braunfels, Texas I catch a train.                                                             I sit, I wait, I'm stuck.  Oh No...here comes another one or two. Well accept it and say thank you for trains. They are really kinda neat to watch coming and going (except when you are in a hurry  to get to an inspection) or have to go to the bathroom or you are thirsty or want to get that check to the bank before they close. Trains are an important part of our daily life and just think how it would be if we didn't have trains (Oh No...more 18-wheelers on the hiway and roadways). So, as I sit next time waiting for a train in New Braunfels, TX or San Antonio, TX I am...

I ran across a quote today that I wanted to share with you.   Why not go out on a limb?  Isn't that where the fruit is?   Frank Scully   Now, I don't know Mr. Scully (guess I should have googled him, now I think I'm breaking some AR rule here) but, I like what he says.  It made me think about the things that we do for our family, children, co-workers and yes, CLIENTS.  How often do you go out on a limb?  Maybe sometimes, here and there or maybe NEVER (yes, I've encountered you out there).   Let's take the grocery store for instance.  I walk in there and spend 45 minutes loading up my cart (I have growing boys :)) I am dodging all kinds of old ladies "browsing" in the isles.  I run into the people on the way to the Guadalupe River who are loading up on beer and ice chests (no food seems ...

Well, it's back to school time.  You know what that means, lunchboxes, getting up and OUT the door on time AND the dreaded homework!   My boys started a brand new school today in a brand new city.  We moved to New Braunfels, Texas about 3 months ago.  So, let's just say that my little one (well, he's 9yrs old...but still my baby!) didn't get much sleep last night and was VERY nervous when we showed up.  It started in the car as I was driving him.  I asked if he wanted to go in by himself.  The answer was "yes, I'm fine Mom".  The closer we got to the school it turned into "can you come in with me?"  (This is the question that I was secretly wishing for...I hear from other parents that in a couple of years I will no longer be invited:))    We parked the car and walked up (let me set the ...
