The League City Blue Santa Program is in full swing in preparation for Christmas.  This program gives children toys and bikes in the local area that would not be fortunate to receive gifts.  The League City Police Department heads up the program with help of volunteers from the Vehicle Maintenance Department, Police Department, E.M.S., the League City Volunteer Fire Department and the community of League City.  The Blue Santa program also offers families gift certificates to buy food from a local grocery store.  155 families were provided gifts and over 460 children were given toys in their 2007 program.To register or donate gifts contact the League City Police Department, 500 W. The ticket was purchased at a Quick Mart Store in League City by a regular customer who purchased $20 worth of tickets.  Someone called the store around 10:30pm  and said they were the winner, and clerk thought it was a hoax.  The store owner, Mohammad Rahman, will get 1% of the jackpot for selling the winning ticket.   The Bay Area Toros are a future team of the Continental Baseball League, to be based in League City, Texas. The team will not be affilitated with Major or Minor League Baseball. They will play their home games at Wildcat Field, at Clear Creek High School. The inaugural season begins on May 27th.
