Jeremy Williams and Hank Anvik at BOLD First Step   When I am not in the office, I am more than likely investing in my personal growth through my commitment to training and education. One of the beautiful things about being a part of Keller Williams Realty is that their focus as a company is to be continually in a state of being learning based. A fabulous training opportunity through MAPS Coaching, a coaching a training company within Keller Williams Realty led by Dianna Kokoszka, is BOLD. Having taken BOLD several times in the 10 years I have been with the Keller Williams Realty, I made the decision to commit once more. What I have experienced is that each time I have taken BOLD, I have heard the material differently, and the material met me where I was at during that time in my life a...

As some of you know I ran the Boston Marathon on April 21st, Patriots Day.  Part of my preparation included reading 1776 by David McCullough.  David McCullough details the events leading to the American Revolution, the writing of the Declaration of Independence and the leadership of so many including General George Washington.   In mid-1776 the “Americans” had a great victory in Boston which pushed the war to New York.  From around August of 1776 til’ December 25th, the Americans experienced one humiliating defeat after another to the British.  The American military was a poor site to behold.  Most often half the men enlisted were sick, had no shoes, were half starved, and ready to give up.  Some men died of exposure, freezing to death as they retreated from one holding ground to the ne...

It started with a challenge in June of 2012 when my brother-in-law Steve told me I should try and qualify to run in the Boston Marathon.  7 months later, January 2013, I qualified for Boston by running a marathon (26.2 miles) in 3 hours and 7 minutes, placing 3rd overall in my first race.  3 weeks later I ran the Huntsville marathon where I placed first.  As registration for the Boston Marathon doesn’t open until September I knew I’d have 14 months to further prepare myself to run in the 2014 Boston Marathon.   In April of 2013 we all heard and watched the horrible events that unfolded at the Boston Marathon.  3 people were killed and many more were injured.  As soon as I caught news of the tragedy I knew I wanted to run the Boston Marathon more than any other competitive event I’ve par...

"I used Dave the Mortgage Guy after I had been denied and worked over by another mortgage company. He worked with us to help us build up our credit score. Dave was there for the last year helping us navigate the loan process and even sped up our loan process when our builder tried to delay our closing date. Every time I had a question or concern I could reach him instantly either by phone or email. He made our loan experience an amazing and very informative experience! I would highly recommend him and have done so with my friends!"   Teresa Rafeek VA Homebuyer

Last week, Thursday at 4pm my cell phone rang.... it was my wife calling to deliver the news.  Did my 12-year old daughter, Kendall, make the middle school basketball team or not?  I dreaded answering the call.  I was bracing fo a "no", that would be followed by the broken heart and sobbings of my sweet Kendall in the background. Earlier in the year Kendall tried out for and missed the cut for the volleyball team.  She's been playing for years and missing the cut was totally devastating.  Rather than completely giving up, Kendall decided to be the team manager which entails the same schedule as the players but with the added responsibility of getting to everything earlier, leaving later, and all kinds of off the court projects.. a lot of extra work for the parents! When Kendall came to ...

If you are searching for a home in the Kingwood area, I would suggest looking at Oakhurst @ Kingwood. It's located right off Highway 59 @ Northpark Dr. It's one of the few areas in Kingwood where you can get to the freeway in 5 minutes, so it makes your commute more managable. The Oakhurst Golf Course is one of the finest in the area as well. Here is a list of the current builders in Oakhurst: Lennar, Frontier Custom Builders, Village Builders, Highland Homes, Brickland Homes, Jaeger Homes, Rueby Custom Homes, Coventry Homes, First Texas Homes, Callery Custom Homes, Legend Homes, & Triumph Homes. Much of Oakhurst is already built out, so some of these builders are done building in the community. Highland Homes is one of my favorite builders in Oakhurst. Maddie Ngo is the sales manager ...

Where's the best place to live and raise a family in Houston, Texas? I have lived in Houston, Texas since 1989. During that time, I have moved 15 times. I've lived in almost every area outside of Beltway 8, all the way around Houston. I've lived in Katy, Cypress, Sugar Land / Stafford, Tomball, Magnolia, Conroe, The Woodands, Porter, Kingwood, & Spring. The only parts I haven't lived in would be Pasadena and Pearland, but I have working in those areas many times. This gives me some real experiences with most of the city outer city. With all this experience in the Houston area, where would I chose to live and raise my family? Kingwood, TX is my city of choice. I think it's Houston's best kept secret. As a REALTOR, I don't like to limit myself to one area. I like to work anywhere within...
