Have you received your new tax appraisal notice in the mail?  I don't know about you, but the increase of 7% on my home got me really excited.  You can sense the sarcasm in my statement.  Especially after I read the Sunday Houston Chronicle special section that said my neighborhood dropped .7%.  I guess I am really skewing the average.  The Harris County Appraisal District has made it more convenient for those wanting to protest their taxes by creating iFile and iSettle.  iFile will save you time and a stamp for filing the protest with the appraisal district.  You can go to www.hcad.org/ifile.  You will need the iFile number that appears in the upper right hand corner of your appraisal notice.  This number is unique and is your protected password for your account.
