President Obama wants to know if ANYONE is opposing the health care plan publicly or in casual conversation so they have initiated the "SNITCH ON YOUR NEIGHBOR" program.  Isn't wonderful that you can now snitch on each other and it is encouraged by our government.  I was raised to never be a tattle tale.  The scriptures even encourage us not to indict someone without at least 3 witnesses.  My my my, how the times are a changing. The First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution is the part of the United States Bill of Rights that expressly gives YOU the right to free expression. Freedom of Speech and or Expression is not only supported by our Constitution but also by other venues. FREEDOM OF SPEECH is the freedom to speak freely without censorship or limitation which includes freedom of expr...

Orient Cafe in Kingwood has opened its doors again!  This is an awesome oriental restaurant at 20699 W. Lake Houston near Upper Lake.  Orient Cafe serves delicious food and were sorely missed in Kingwood during their hiatus.  They have Lunch Specials that are sure to make your mouth water as you read the menu.  One of my team members loves L1 with chicken.  She raves about the chicken and the crunchy wonton strips that top the dish.  My personal favorite is L10 - gotta have a little spice!  (With the egg drop soup, crab puff & steamed rice)  The restaurant has a pleasant, comfortable ambiance and the staff works hard to see that your dining experience is the best! For carry-out, you can order online or call it in.  (281) 812-9090 The portions are large and it beats cooking on a busy day...

According to the Houston TX Area Realtors Association, the sale of single-family homes in greater Houston TX continues to improve.  In June of 09, we had the highest volume recorded since August of 08 and the highest median price in history.  The overall percent for single family homes is still down 13.5% from one year ago. Foreclosed properties are also decreasing month to month which is encouraging.  Sales of all property types in greater Houston TX was 6,306 which is off 15% from June of 08. Over all, the Houston TX market has shown improvement for each month of this year in both sales volume and pricing stability.    With the tax credit for up to $8000 which may be applied to your down payment is a real asset to most anyone who has not owned a home in the past 3 years.  This tax cre...

What in the world does it take to help to make a Real Estate deal close successfully even when they say that it can't be done?   As we all know, seldom, if ever, does a deal "go down" in the same as any other.  People, places, conditions, weather, lenders, inspectors and on the list goes, all make each deal unique and challenging. The best way to increase the odds of success is to surround yourself with other honest, conscientious hard working people that you know that you click with and that you are comfortable working with.  It takes time to develop this list of other professionals but ultimately worth the effort as it not only makes you successful, but will make your clients happy when they sell or purchase their new home with a smooth transaction. You know, there are always deals th...

Navy pilot Scott Michael Speicher's remains were just found after 18 years.  He was a casualty of the 1991 Gulf War after his F/A 18 Hornet was shot down what at first was thought to be a ground to air missile and then later confirmed to be a MIG aircraft.  On the day of the mission, Jan 17, 1991 he was declared as killed in action/body not recovered.  In 2001 he is listed by the pentagon as missing in action and then to missing/captured in 2002.  In 2008 the intelligence community declared that he was deceased with remains not located.   The president has now once again insured us that "As with all service men and women considered missing in action, we remain steadfast in our determination to bring our American hero's home." I thought that this was already our policy.  It saddens me to...

It is not uncommon to be in competition with ourselves as well as with other people in our profession.  We study, practice and use the tools that help to set ourselves apart from other Realtors.  This is a good thing.  We spend our hard earned money to go to training seminars and look in the mirror before going out the door to make sure that we are at our best.  We might even wash our car.  This is a good thing.  We get involved in community services, civil organizations and churches etc to better serve mankind and our surrounding areas.  This is a good thing. Most of us do whatever it takes with whatever resources that we have to be the best that we can be for family, friends and our clients.  I think that you would agree that these are all good things. Another "good thing" is when I h...

I woke up again early this morning to the sound of sirens.  Close to my house near the "back of Kingwood Texas" is a very very sharp curve in the road.  It is not unusual to have people who are unaware to try and take it too fast and end up in the ditch, hitting a tree or in a neighbors yard.  I quite frankly would hate to live on that corner as it is dangerous.  The issue needs to be addressed somehow just out of common courtesy to "help our fellow man."  It would be an easy fix.  More signage would be a good start.  The traffic on this road is becoming heavier and heavier as the back of the city expands.  Now there is yet another subdivision going in in the same area.  Thank goodness for the growth but what about safety?   Now that the sirens have subsided, it is now a quiet Sunday ...

I hope all is well.  Summer is quickly wrapping up though the hot weather will stick around with us for awhile longer.  That is just part of living in the Houston area.   It has been a full summer enjoying a vacation to Gulf Shores, spending time with family at the 4th of July parade in Kingwood, my daughter turning 3 (time goes by so fast), and learning to adapt to the sleep schedule of our 4 month old son.  Enjoy this month's newsletter.  By the way, if you know someone thinking about buying or selling a home, give me a call. 281-387-7689   Find more by following KingwoodTX on Twitter or Facebook (www.facebook.com/williams4yourhome) Search All MLS Home and Lot Listings Summerwood Houston TX Homes For Sale | Large Price Reduction | 13907 Cloudcap CT Houston TX 77044   Kingwood TX Marke...

As part of a beginning service to our area, I want to highlight local businesses and events that are pertinent to the people that live in Kingwood and the surrounding IAH area.  The Kingwood, Atoscacita, Humble, Woodlands area has a lot of airline employees that live and contribute to life in the "Liveable Forest." SkySacIAH is one of the premium crashpads that serve our areas inflight employees.  Unless you are an airline employee, you may wonder, "what is a crashpad?"  In simple terms, a crashpad is provides temporary housing for aircrews that are "in base" and need a place to "call home" perhaps a few days per month.  It is a restful retreat that can provide the kind of setting that a crew member needs after a long trip (paring) SkySacIAH has been in operation now for approxiamately ...

The sun was coming up, the squirrels were running in the front yard while my Chocolate Lab was chasing them.  Birds were chirping and it was pretty warm and muggy.  Oh, geez, I need to put the garbage out to the curb!  The neighborhood was waking up and the smell of coffee permeates the air.  Standing on the front porch to greet the new day, my hot blonde wife at my side. I take a big stretch and a deep breath, she pats me on the ever increasing protrusion called my stomach and gives me a hug.  I mean, come on, aside from perhaps a sale or two, can life get any better than this?  A pretty average hot summer day in East Texas.  Nothing out of the norm (aside from health care reform) and all was fine when all of a sudden, unexpectedly and out of nowhere....ringgggggggg ringgggggg.....who ...

The market in the northeast Houston area may just start to feel the impact from the national housing market crisis, but it instead of the local market catching the flu, I believe that the local market will only experience the common cold.  If you are thinking about buying or selling a home, now is a better time than later with the expectations of rising interest rates in the coming future.  Great opportunities exist also for the first-time home buyer including the $8,000 tax credit.  The tax credit is also something that will only be available for a limited time.  Give me a call today to find out how you can benefit in today's local real estate market.  Below is the statistics for the Kingwood, TX real estate market. I have been in the real estate business for several years now and understand that most home buyers are beginning their search on the Internet.  What I have found is that on most Realtor websites you must fill out a registration form in advance to obtaining information about area homes.  The only reason you must fill out the form is to control information and to be hassled by phone calls about how that real estate agent can help you buy a home.  I would like to let you know that I do not conduct business in this manner.  I believe you should be able to relax in the comfort of your home, at your discretion, and search freely available homes.  When you are at the point you are ready to touch, taste and feel what could potentially be your next home, then at that time contact a Realtor.  Wit...
