Written by Suzanne Gantner, GRI Sky Realty Austin, Tx Real EstateThis just out - Georgetown Texas is one of the best places to Retire. Hmmmm. Sounds good. I found this interesting because I sell alot of homes in Georgetown... Sun City in particular. According to U. S. News, the median home price is $175,473.  I can believe that being that my clients come from all over the US, sold their homes and come to "retire" in Georgetown/Sun City.  They usually pay cash, they usually play golf or are extremely active, have lots of disposable cash and have a busier schedule than mine. Retire - HA I laugh.  It appears they like the temps, they appreciate the parkland/greenspaces, the 12 public golf courses, the 10 private golf courses, the 10 libraries in the county, 48 clinics in the county, 5 hosp...

Written by Betsy Hayes, Realtor, Austin real estate, Georgetown Texas The new model home park has opened in Sun City Texas.  They are very similar to the previous models, but have lowered the price.  That is good and bad for everyone.  The old Del Webb communities that started in Arizona were first designed for upper middle class couples.  They designed their homes with custom features throughout.  People could add anything to their homes, including changing walls, fixtures etc.  The days of customizing your new home have come to an end.  Pulte homes has brought volume building to the active adult world.  Now you buy what they want you to buy.  If you do not like what they have to offer, then you are welcome to go somewhere else.  The problem with that is, there is nothing out there lik...

I had the opportunity to tour the new Sun City Model Park last week. They have 9 new model homes on display varying in size, features and price. The homes are classified into 3 groups: the Villas, The Classics and The Estates. the Villas are the smaller homes ranging in size from 1,393 SF to 1,465 SF. The Classic series are 1,553 SF to 1,896 SF and the Estates start at 2,112 SF up to 2,848 SF. As of 10/11/07, according to the Sun City literature, the pricing started in the low $140's and are subject to change without notice. All the homes are gorgeous but my favorite is the Chamberlain. Of course it's the largest of the Estate Series but a real beauty. Additional information at: www.sedlorproperties.com

Texas is known for several things, one being "warm" summers. At Cimarron Hills, even the warmest weather is no match for a refreshing 25-meter lane swimming pool. Dive in and enjoy your right to cool off Texas-style. And there's nothing quite as satisfying as lunch on the pool terrace after a brisk swim. Or if you'd prefer to break a sweat rather than wash one away, a state-of-the-art fitness center, five tennis courts and three miles of hike and bike trails are ready and waiting for you to enjoy. For more information, please call 512.763.1800 or visit CimarronHills.com.

The clubhouse complements the 18-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course perfectly at Cimarron Hills. Eighteen holes of heaven, the course was named one of the "Best Courses in Texas" by Golf Digest. And it's no wonder, considering the native trees, rolling hills and water features that make the course as beautiful as it is challenging. And with new men's and women's locker rooms and pro shop, your time inside the facility just might rival your time on the course.
