Yesterday we decided to give our nanny a day off and spend some quality time with the boys. Most of it consisted on routine errands that we rarely have time to do, and my nearly 3 year old twins love to ride in the car, so off we went... We stopped at the new Jason's Deli for lunch, and as I sat there trying to entertain a very anxious toddler, I realized just how great and connected this community is. It might sound silly to some, but it was nice to "see" the community in action. Ok... maybe I'm going overboard some, Jason's Deli - (the first with a takeout drive up window) is certainly not the 1st restaurant in Flower Mound, in fact there are so many and great ones at that - just not on our side of town - until now.I live in Highland Village, just across the street from all the new r...

July RoundupBy Realty Times StaffJuly 31, 2007Mortgage Rates Drop Concern over the softening housing market brought a slight drop in mortgage rates as July came to a close. But the good news about lower rates was tempered by the bad news in housing. With building permits at their lowest level in a decade and home sales continuing to fade, the average cost of a 30-year, fixed-rate mortgage fell to 6.69 percent in July's final week, a bit of a dip from 6.73 percent the week before, according to the latest survey by mortgage giant Freddie Mac. The month-ending rate also was a fraction lower than the 6.72 percent average this time last year. Other key rates also were lower: The 15-year fixed-rate mortgage averaged 6.37 percent, down just a tick from 6.38 percent the week before. A year ago,...

So Summer in Texas is FINALLY here. The rains have ceased, at least the torrential downpours that we have been getting. My kids were gone for 2 weeks and Matt and I couldn't wait for them to come home so that we could celebrate the 4th like every other American Family, cookouts, swimming, parades, fireworks.SO the day got off to a great start, we were dressed, the car was packed, and the skies were BLACK, yes that's right, for a city that usually prays from rain this time of year, we are just asking for the clouds to part for a few hours so that we can enjoy the planned festivities. We set out anyway and by the time we arrived it had started to sprinkle - no big deal... We brought the umbrella's and set out for the line-up. We weren't the only ones... the crowds came and despite the dow...
