The Swine Flu is all over the news and newspapers the last few days... 3 kids in Richardson got it, my wife who is an ICU trauma nurse has a co-worker who got it....At first I was wondering if we were sounding the alarms to early on this illness but maybe I am wrong.   Is the Swine going to affect your travel or work plans?  My buyer's agent just informed me today that he has the swine flu, but I am personally not worried about it because I was my hands and use hand sanitizer all the time.   Are you taking any extra precaution?   Click Here To Search Homes For Sale In Your Area Nick Good- The Good Home Selling Team affiliated with Keller Williams Realty www.NickGood,com

Buying a Lemon is a Good Thing!   It's official, my kids are opening a one day lemonade stand right here in Dallas! They are tickled pink yellow at the idea of making some extra money to take with us to Disney World in a few days. And what more can entrepreneur parents give their kids than the knowledge and experience that have gotten us so far in life.   To get involved, check out LemonadeDay.org and buy some lemons (or lemon juice, in our case). It's never too early to start teaching children about business and money. No excuses here. What? You don't have any kids you say? Find a kid on your block, at your church, maybe a niece or nephew. Just look around and see who you can help! Just like any other business, you're going to have to do some marketing :) Let's the kids help make flyer...

The biggest hurdle for many Dallas home buyers is saving money for a down payment. Here are 25 things to do on a regular basis to save money: Make it automatic. Before you see your paycheck, have a percentage of it automatically deposited into your 401(k) and savings. Keep minimum funds in checking account. Transfer extra funds into your savings account where it will earn more interest than in our checking account. Don't pay banking fees! Use your bank's free bill pay, automatic deposits, free checks, and free reimbursements for all ATM fees. Use rewards credit cards. Use a credit card offering cash back on every purchase and pay the card off each month to e...

So, you are ready to get out that apartment or rental home or you are ready to either move up or move down depending on where you are in life you will more than likely be getting a loan to purchase your new home.   The loan process can be a time consuming process.  So would you want to go to a bank where you are treated like a number and they honestly could care less if your new home closes on time or not OR would like to use a Mortgage banker who is 100% commission and truly cares if your loan closes on time and wants to do such a good job that you tell your friends, family, and coworkers about them?   Personally I would go with the 100% commission banker because MOST of them mortgage bankers are looking out for your best interest (my mortgage guy truly is looking out for you).   I r...

Sadly, it was reported this week that the end of the month will mark the end of 50 years for a Dallas landmark. The sign for the Sigel’s Liquor store located at the corner of Inwood and Lemmon Avenues will be lost to progress as the store closes and the corner on which it sits is redeveloped.  (I have heard it will be the site of a new Bank of America branch.) Originally put up in the 1950’s, the exciting neon sign has become a landmark for generations of Dallasites and has added a bit of pizzazz to an otherwise unexciting intersection.  It’s 50’s-style design and esthetic provided a futuristic feel when it was erected and for decades now, has given local residents a glimpse backward in design language. The sign will be placed in storage by Sigel’s Liquor for placement at a different ...
