  As many know, I am a frustrated restaurant critic.  I write restaurant reviews for my blog posts at least once a week, but usually they are mid-priced restaurants… good food/reasonable prices.  Well, this week I got to experience something special. This week I had dinner at Five Sixty.  For those unfamiliar with this restaurant, it is Wolfgang Puck’s new restaurant at the top of Reunion Tower in downtown Dallas.  (And for those unfamiliar with Reunion Tower, it is the tall tower with the “ball” at the top that you see in almost every picture of the Dallas skyline.)  The entire experience was exceptional! A slower Dallas real estate market is creating more of a demand for reverse 1031 exchanges. Properties are taking longer to sell making it difficult for sellers to adhere to 1031 exchange 180 day rules. But there is another option called a Reverse 1031 Exchange allowing for the roll-over of proceeds after closing on another property. To some this may be a uncool, but we are actually doing our first garden this year! It seemed like a fun summer project for the kids, and to be honest, I buy fresh veggies and fruit a few times a week because it goes so fast around this house!   With the oldest kid being only five, I give us a few more years until I need a full blown farm with orchards and all :) I would be thrilled if we get enough produce to cut out just one of the three trips to the store!     Tearing up part of the yard or building big raised beds just seemed like too much work and a big commitment to me. After last November’s Presidential Election, many voters thought it would be a while before they needed to head back to the polls.  That is not the case.  Next Saturday, May 9, 2009, is once again voting day here in Dallas County.  There are City Council races and important Ballot Measures to weigh-in on.  The most visible measures being Propositions 1 & 2 regarding the proposed Convention Center Hotel in Dallas.   These are confusing times. You probably read in the newspaper or heard on the radio or TV that housing prices are down sharply.  You may have seen or heard at least 3 different reports about DFW housing prices and, in addition, you have probably heard about the huge number of foreclosures on the market. It's all true and also wrong! "How can this be?" you may ask. Well the national reports are true if you are talking about all sales nationwide.
