Crestview Station is one of several transit oriented developments popping up throughout Austin (namely along the region's first commuter rail line - MetroRail's Leander-downtown route). This $100+ million, 73-acre re-development initiative will include 150,000 sq. ft. of retail and office space, 600 apartments and condominiums, and 500 single-family "row-house" style homes. Prices for the condos and homes are expected to range from the mid-$100,000s to the mid-$200,000s. Currently, the developers are in their 12 to 18-month-long environmental remediation phase. Finally, a Green building developer that gets it. As I understand it, they have built in Solar collection systems that serve powering the common areas and sell the excess power to the city. I imagine this will be the norm in the future but until then, this is the first. Michael Moran is one of the best green builders in Austin. Great job on this one. 03/08/2008
