Last week, I blogged about the New Years Day art walk in Addison, around the Addison Circle area. The art installations I covered in that post were part of the carefully planned route that our docent suggested we see. However, there were a few additional stops not on the original plan that we passed. What I know about Feng Shui might only fill a thimble.  But it was enough to break the ice and get me some buyer clients!  I will usually take a buyer out to just a few homes to see if we are a good fit for each other before I pull out the Buyer Representation agreement for signatures.  On Sunday, I showed one of my listings from a phone call off the sign in the yard.  Two very sweet women pulled up and we walked through the home.  They continually chatted with each other in a language I did not understand and I was having a difficult time getting a "read" on them, their seriousness about purchasing a home, and exactly what they were looking for.  The asked if there were any other homes in the neighborhood, so I showed a slightly larger one, a foreclosure, but essentially the same floor...

The Town of Addison (TX) opened its signature bridge on January 5, 2006.  Spanning Midway Road, the bridge is an extension of Arapaho Road, and makes the street continuous between Addison Road to the east and Surveyor Boulevard/Marsh Lane on the west.The largest public works project undertaken by the Town, the bridge provides additional capacity for traffic traveling through Addison and alleviates congestion on Belt Line Road.Three additional pocket parks were created along with the bridge and they provide a landscaped oasis with more than 600 trees and shrubs, along with a hike-and-bike trail.Structurally, the bridge is a construction marvel, designed as a true arch with a suspended, 4-lane roadway and over 220 lights to enhance visibility and security for both drivers and pedestrians....

The Bookworm Bash is an annual  Addison event where you can buy books at terrific bargain prices.Thousands of books are donated and the sale benefits Senior Adult Services, a local nonprofit organization that works to improve the lives of seniors and caregivers in Addison, Carrollton, Coppell and Farmers Branch.  This year's sale is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, November 2-3, 2007, 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.  The event is held at the Addison Circle Park Pavillion, 4970 Addison Circle Drive, Addison TX.  Admission is free, as is the parking.You can find new and slightly used classics, paperbacks, coffee table books, children's books, references, cookbooks, history books, periodicals and more.The public can donate books at all Town of Addison buildings until October 15th.
