I have seen mushrooms growing outside of a house as well as under a house.  But, this is the first time that I've ever seen mushrooms growing inside a house! Obviously, the builders of this house from hell -- excuse me, I mean new construction property -- has a minor problem.  As far as new construction goes, this was one of the worst houses that I've ever seen.  Overall, the summary report that went to the builder and the real estate agent was 14 pages of items that needed to be addressed by the builder.  To give a bench mark, most houses in this area are from 5 - 6 pages.  Just goes to show youthe quality of craftsmanship and the attention to detail that goes into some new construction properties out there. The Town of Kingston Springs will salt the main streets when it snows. If needed they will start this process as early as 4a.m.The roads that are generally salted first are:MerryLog LaneWest Kingston Springs Road (in front of Lawrence Foods)Luyben Hill (runs past and above the Petro II Truck Stop)It will still take a couple of hours after the sun comes up for the ice to be melted to a point of being slushy. This does not mean the roads are clear only that they may be more manegable. Please, do not travel in icey road conditions unless it is necessary! If you must go out in these conditions, please use a 4-wheel drive vehicle if you have access to one.And remember, if the temperature is 17 degrees or greater, the salt will not be as effective. This group sponsors a Christmas Home Tour in December, a Garden Tour in June, an annual historic calendar, and the Annual Christmas Tree Lighting. The Association is presently working on developing an historical archive which will be available also on CD.
