What's My Historic Franklin TN Home Worth? March 2016 Properties active on the market: 7 Single-family properties closed in March: 2 Average sales price: $310,000 Average list price: $369,981 Sales price to list price ratio: 83.8% Average days on the market: 15 Historic Franklin absorption rate: 3.5 months of inventory (a normal or steady market would be 5-7 months; anything under 5 months of inventory is considered a seller's market, above 7 months is considered a buyer's market). Historic Franklin is in a seller's market. However, the list price to sales price is extremely low. This was due to one home that was in need of serious repairs selling for $100,000 less than list price. Usually, historic homes sell very quickly and close to asking price, even if they are in need of repair.It...

One of the things I absolutely love about living in Franklin TN is its rich history. Franklin was founded in 1799 and very few people actually know that one of the worst battles in the Civil War was fought here. As a result, you will find several historic exhibits here. Carnton Plantation is Franklin's most famous historic place. Carnton Plantation was built in 1815 by former Nashville mayor Randal McGavock. At the time, Carnton became one of the premier farms in Williamson County, Tennessee. John McGavock inherited the farm upon his father's death. John married Carrie Elizabeth Winder in 1848 and they had five children, three of whom died at an early age. The surviving children were son, Winder, and daughter, Hattie. On November 30, 1864, during the Battle of Franklin, Carnton Plan...

I have a confession to make. I love Guinness Stout Beer. I'm quite certain the love affair started when I visited Ireland for my son's wedding in 2001. I stayed for about a week touring the country, staying at bed and breakfasts, and visiting Pubs. But that's another adventure story all by itself!I was delighted to find a little bit of Ireland in Franklin TN at McCreary's Irish Pub and Eatery located at 414 Main Street in the heart of historic, downtown Franklin. It's a cozy place where one feels at home immediately upon entering. It's warm and friendly and is one of my favorites. It's the sort of place you can pop into after a day of shopping or just hang out while your spouse is shopping! It's packed with families on a Saturday night with everyone enjoying the food and atmosphere. One l...
