This may be the single, most important thing to teach yourself in order to succeed in life.    What is delayed gratification?  It's a daily negotiation with yourself.   You do the chores you dread first, in order to allow yourself the pleasure you seek.  For example, if you have a problem to tend to that day, do it first thing in the morning and treat yourself to a nice lunch if you manage to solve it successfully.     You award yourself for good behavior and you tend to the hard stuff first (you DELAY the gratification).   If you want to change the way your body looks, exercise first thing in the morning.  Once you get the hardest part of the day done, you'll feel good all day.  If I want to blog on AR, I have to finish the chores I still have left in order to allow myself the pleasure... 07/15/2008

January, 2007:  I brought a seller an offer of $ 175,000 on his condo.  In spite of my best efforts, he turned down the offer.   The condo is now marked down to $ 139,900, and it is still lingering on the market with no offers, in spite of my best marketing efforts.  He missed the boat...September, 2007:  Past clients of mine who had their condo listed with a family friend for $ 279,900 for six months, came back to me and asked what I could sell it for.  I told them I could get them $ 210,000.  They said they needed a drink, but signed the listing anyway.  I got the job done within a few weeks.  Their neighbors, who had an identical unit on the market for $ 259,900 at the time, have now reduced to $ 189,900 and they still can't sell it.  There is a lesson to be learnt here:  Discount no... 12/17/2007

Completion of the biggest car dealership on the east coast nears completion.  The showroom is just around 40,000 square feet.  Folks thats just under an acre of air conditioned car lot..... This has caused a spurt in commercial growth in the Hwy 9 corridor between Loris and Longs.  McDonald's has rumored to have bought property and other major commercial chains looking for locations.  At last report there were 17 approved sub-divisions of a hundred lots or more started or gearing up in the spring of this year.  Hwy 9 seems to be the new 501 of Horry County. 10/13/2007
