Dog Lost in Charleston - Grand Oaks Plantation   On February 16, Lena ran from her new home in Charleston's Grand Oaks Plantation.  My client just closed on her house last week and drove to Atlanta Saturday to pick up her new dog, Lena.  Lena is a Bernese Mountain Dog and a rescue.  She was taken in a kennel seizure and my client has been waiting to settle in her new Charleston home before getting Lena.  Lena is about 60 lbs.  Her body is black.  She's got white on her chest, feet and face.  She's also got tan on her feet and face.  She won't bite, but she's scared of people.  She was wearing a red and blue Kansas Jayhawk's collar.  She does have a microchip.  Please help bring Lena home by sharing this with others.  Contact me at 843-327-6099 with any information.  Your help is greatly...

You know, I'm so glad to be in Charleston, SC. Right now, it's sunny, 72 degrees in February, with a light wind. The winter is slowly giving way to spring, and the people of the Lowcountry are training for the Cooper River Bridge Run. Earlier today, I was out at the beach going on caravan with my company, Carolina One Real Estate. We do this every Thursday morning.  I am sitting here at my dining room table composing this blog because I am waiting on the gas company. When I signed up for service I was told someone would call me in a few days to schedule connection. A few days later they did and we set a time a week and half out between 8:00am and Noon.   As I think about that now it comes to me how "ol school" this appointment is. First, with today's technology I can do almost anything right from my laptop. This coming weekend is more than just Valentine's weekend for Charleston, SC. It seems that Charleston, South Carolina has someting else it can boast. Just in time for the most romantic day of the year, Charleston has been listed as one of the Top Ten Romantic Cities in the US, according to Home and Garden Television's FrontDoor.com. JUST BECAUSE   I don't know about you but growing up in my house this was not an excuse I got away with. I have to say when raising my children I found myself saying the exact things to them my dad said to me.   Last Night President Obama spoke to the nation. I thought for his first news conference as President it went quite well. It also became clear to me that the President is having the same problem the rest of us are having.....that is we think this is the right action but we don't know for sure.   Today Treasury Secretary Geithner will be speaking to us regarding the remaining TARP fund and what the Obama administration has on tap for banks and financial institutions going forward. I said YES to the privilege of co-hosting an open house with Jennifer LePage in Hampton Terrace at 473 Huger Street today and here are a few things I learned.  I learned that the historic city park near the Citadel, "Hampton Park", is just around the corner and boasts thirteen acres of lush gardens, live oaks, reflecting ponds and hiking trails. I'll have to take my camera and check that out sometime.   I learned that Jennifer LePage (the Realtor) has a really cute little doggie...but, try as I might, I couldn't get the little darlin' approved for any type of financing. We had the opportunity to stage a property in this fabulous new development called Midtown.  Midtown is a Reavis-Comer developed located in downtown Charleston.  It is a mix of single family homes and Condominiums with various price ranges.  The architecture is sleek and stunning and the builder spared no expense in the finishing touches.
