Get out the sweet tea and sip while sitting on your screened porch overlooking the beautiful views from your back yard on Battery Creek. Watch the seabirds soar and the pelicans dive to catch their dinner. Mosey on down to the community dock with a fishing line and cast for dinner, or throw the shrimp net for a seafood buffet. While you're down on the dock, push the boat off the float and take a sunset cruise down the creek. Sail toward Historic Port Royal and dock the boat at the local seafood restaurant. If time allows, visit the shops in downtown Beaufort, which is just a few miles by way of the Intracoastal Waterway. Seasonal changes are awesome across the river. Marsh grasses change just as the leaves on the trees, and the display is spectacular when the sun sets on the ever-changi...

INTRACOASTAL WATERWAY DEEP WATER PROPERTY Here is a perfect opportunity to own property on deep water on the Intracoastal Waterway! The Atlantic ICW extends from Key West, Florida to Maine, and is navigable for approximately 1200 miles. This portion of the ICW is protected by barrier islands and is a natural river channel traversed by many boaters of leisure and commerce. Many boaters spend their winters in the south and return to their northerly locations in the warmer seasons. Likewise, many are migrating from the south to our area because they are tired of the hurricane season and high insurance rates. Many are now finding Beaufort, Port Royal and St. Helena Island, South Carolina the perfect location to drop anchor and spend the rest of their lives. This place is a boater's paradise...

Allow me to introduce myself.  I'm Jon Miller and I am retired military.  I did about 25 years with the United States Navy.  I started my career as an E-1 right out of high school and worked my way up the ranks.  I made Chief, and the day I made Senior Chief was the day I put on the "butter bar" and joined the ranks as a commisioned officer.I say all this because I've been on both sides of the fence - officer and enlisted.  You could say that I am ably qualified to help the lowest to the highest in rank when it comes to real estate and military relocation.I had to get my education the hard way.  Like many in the military, I went to college in my spare time while having a family and holding a full time job in the Navy.  I used tuition assistance and my G.I. Bill and was able to complete ...

Market Facts did a survey about baby boomers and what they would like to do when they retire.  Nearly 40% said they plan to retire to rural areas and to a warmer climate.  Many reasons were given:  lower cost of living, availability of healthcare, abundance of leisure activities such as hunting, fishing, boating, golfing, hobby activities and the like.  We are finding in our market that a lot of people are migrating from the colder climes up north as well as people leaving the hurricane-prone regions of Florida and the Gulf Coast.  They are finding that the Lowcountry region of South Carolina is an excellent place to settle down.  (Yes, the word 'Lowcountry' is a three syllable word; one word, not two).  Beaufort is a quaint little city rich in Southern hospitality.  You can make your w...
