Yall some things are just down right funny. In Beaufort, we truly love our horse and carriage tours. We love our horses. We love our donuts too......I guess it is safe to say our horses love donuts..he ran a good 2 miles from his downtown post:)(article from our very own...Beaufort Gazette..)" ........According to Maj. Matt Clancy, deputy chief of police for Beaufort, the tour carriage and horse belong to local company, Southurn Rose Buggy Tours. The carriage operator was unhitching the horse and undid one side when something spooked it, Clancy said. The horse took off and went up Boundary Street, turned on to Ribaut Road Extension and went through Ramada Limited on Boundary. In the parking lot, the runaway carriage made contact with a sheriff's office car, which freed the horse of its...

We just came back from Charleston, SC through Beaufort, SC heading home to Hilton Head.... All at once this huge jet came right over us and headed in to land at the Marine Corp Air Station....  They have this saying on the gate and I firmly agree:  "THE NOISE YOU HEAR IS THE SOUND OF FREEDOM".  We arrived home and went out on the back porch and again, those proud airborne flew over the Lowcountry Marsh and we heard that "Freedom" again, what a sweet sound!  Thank God we live in a wonderful country like this, and Soldiers who protects us and fight to keep us safe.  God bless our Service Men and Women everywhere that risk their lives to keep us FREE... Freedom is not free, it is hard earned and I am grateful for all of them in providing a safe country, home, and American lifestyle for all...

Okay folks....its run around town Wednesday for me. I have been so busy (thank goodness) that my everyday errands have gone a bit unnoticed. You know...that oil change light comes on and haunts you like a demon in the night....then of course you realize that it is YOU squeaking at the traffic lights...Yep, that is how I began my day. So the oil change (thanks to the great Zippy Lube guys) was quite painless. However, the wonderful people at Tire Kingdom informed me it "may take a while" for my brake pads to be replaced. Hmmmmm..Realtor without car = Realtor without job. Not good.  Wait! I live in Beautiful Beaufort! Seriously, after I picked myself up off the floor from a fairly impressive temper tantrum, I came to the realization that it is a gorgeous day. I have plenty of sunshine and...

As the owner of a real estate company, it is often hard to recruit agents who you know have 'it".  I was truly blessed the day Cherimie came into my life.  She is one of those agents who I envisioned when I thought about opening my own company.  She is beyond professional, she has an amazing work ethic and quite frankly, I am proud to have her representing my company.  It cracks me up that I turned Cherimie on to Active Rain, but little did I know that she would take Active Rain and run far and wide.  I also didn't know how greatly that one act would impact her business in a powerful way.  I read Cherimie's blog often and smile because I never know what she is going to say.  I think she has an amazing voice about her career and she showcases Beaufort, SC in a way that would make anyone ...

Two years ago I was blessed with so many sellers who thought I hung the moon. They loved me, referred all their friends and family, and even sent me Christmas gifts!I am still fortunate...my sellers still love me but our lengthy conversations are a bit different than years past. We spend hours on end sprucing up the house, decluttering, staging, and of course landscaping....then there is the amount of time I spend at home studying, creating new marketing campaigns, networking and fine tuning our strategy. SO....my current sellers are still happy (knock on wood) but YOU GOT TO LOVE THOSE CURRENT BUYERS!!!!!!! I have never seen a better time to be a buyer! Their quality of selection is fabulous! Sellers are offering incentives never seen before and last but not least the interest rates!!!...

As if my day wasn't long enough....Moments after eloquently explaining the rise and fall of our ever changing tides while WALKING BACKWARDS IN HIGH HEELS on a floating dock...I busted my @$$...Yep. Sorry for the language but there simply isn't a better word for it.  There are moments in our careers that are easily recoverable...My friends..this WAS NOT one of them. We have a little thing called pluff mud here in Beaufort South Carolina. It is part mud, part water, part oyster shell, and part quick sand!!! I fell in all parts:) My clients, bless their hearts, were able to hold back the hysterical laughter until after checking me for broken bones or major lacerations.... I pridefully climbed back on to the dock, trying not to say all of the many fine words that were on the tip of my tongu...

Shrimping inBeaufort & Hilton Head Island How to Shrimp withCast Net or Bait The Beaufort and Hilton Head Island area is well known for it's marshes and waterways. Beaufort is even better known for it's huge population of shrimp. The very marsh that provides the area with so much beauty, also is the growing grounds for shrimp and most other sea life. In late summer, the shrimp that hatched and grew in these marshes begin their departure to the open sea. While they are preparing to leave the area, the local shrimpers are preparing for their departure, to the boat landings. It's shrimping time!!   Although rare, some people are allergic to shrimp and other types of shellfish. Some may not even know it.If, after eating shrimp or shell fish, you begin to have symptoms like tightness in the ...

What more could a woman ask for! Besides the beautiful coastal views, the amazing weather, our ability to wear flip flops just about all year long, and down right fantastic food, we have Marines!!! Ok...I have to honor those fearless, distinctive, physically phenomenal female marines also! So we have it all:)   The military in Beaufort, SC, contributes both to the economy and the welfare of the Beaufort area. "Tri-command" refers to the Marine Corps Air Station north of Beaufort City, the Naval Hospital in Port Royal and the Marine Corps Recruit Depot on Parris Island. These three units contribute more than $375 million annually to the Beaufort, SC, economy and employ some 1,800 civilians, not too mention the bringing in 6,500 active duty personnel to the Beaufort, SC, area. It is a wo...

These are in no particular order by the way.Having moved here from Norfolk, Virginia and not necessarily having chosen Beaufort on our own (Thank you U.S. Navy!), we came to Beaufort completely mesmerized by its beauty and charm.  As most people do, we were instantly smitten with the lowcountry charm and picturesque scenery that was to be our new home.  What I have compiled here are a few of my favorite things that I have grown to absolutely LOVE about Beaufort South Carolina.  As I was compiling this list, I discovered there was no way I could chose only 10 things that I love about Beaufort so I imagine I will have to amend this post to include future parts along the way.  So here it goes....1) NO STARBUCKS ALLOWED!  I know many of you readers will ask yourselves "How can anyone live w...

When searching for a waterfront community with spectacular panoramic views, look no further than Willow Point.  Located in the Shell Point community of Beaufort off of Highway 802, Willow Point is one of our newest classy subdivisions.Willow Point overlooks the Broad River and the Broad River Bridge.  Many boaters and fisherman find great pleasure in cruising along the river or catching their haul in their favorite "secret" fishing holes.  Crabbers, Shrimpers and Oystermen also find the Broad River a great place to catch their favorite seafood.  You can launch your boat from any one of the several local public boat ramps located nearby.  If you enjoy observing nature you may also see a dolphin playing in the river or an egret or blue heron perched along the marsh grass. The Broad River B...
