Rolling over this morning when my alarm went off, my immediate reaction to another day of rain here on the East Coast was a huge sigh and one word .... sh#t!  Good grief... is it ever going to stop raining here?  Not even the proverbial "farmers" that people always say love the rain, can be happy about all of the wet, gloomy weather.  Doesn't God realize I have to wipe JJ's paws every freaking time he goes outside in this mess? Okay, enough grousing.  I'll be thankful for my green lawn and the fact that I haven't had to drag the hose all over the yard to water my precious flowers.  I'll be thankful that I haven't had to fill the pool up with a hose, not once this season.  I'd also like to take the time to thank the following people who've helped me through various issues in the last few...

On Saturday, 5/17, The Pennsylvania Coalition of Motorcyclist, P.C.O.M. Patriots Chapter #03, along with their co-sponsor C.C. Iron, met in Honey Brook, laden with food and monetary donations, and made the trek, on a colder than normal day for May, to the West Chester Food Cupboard, located at 545 E. Gay Street. West Chester, PA. They came in a group, the numbers down because the weather was so nasty, but they were flying the flag of The United States of America and they came with food! Even their youngest member got in on the act, although he came in by car! Here's a group shot of the big hearted bikers, that included men, women and one adorable child!     Two of the men are shown here behind the table where we separated their donations. The flyer that they distributed to people in the...

Rep. Barbara McIlvaine Smith, 156th Legislative District, Chester County, is one of my all time favorite people.  Notice I didn't say favorite politicians, even though she is hands down, my favorite politician.  She's one of my favorite people as well because she's forthright, honest, hardworking and has a wonderful personality.  I never see her around that she doesn't graciously come over to me like we are old friends.  I've met other government officials, time and again, and they introduce themselves to me each time, like it's the first time we've met.  Not so with Rep. McIlvaine Smith.  I first met her when she was campaigning for her first term and she was going door to door in my neighborhood.  She does an outstanding job as our Representative and her website is very helpful and in...

Today dawned, sunny and glorious with a light breeze. Today is Greater Chester Valley Soccer Association's first game and we couldn't have ordered up a more beautiful day to watch our children run around the field.  While watching, I turned to the mom next to me and thought aloud something that I had been thinking.  Our children are very lucky indeed to live in this glorious area called Chester County. We are all lucky, here in the United States, to live free, to enjoy the pursuit of happiness, whatever that may mean for each of us, individually. Today is also Keep East Goshen Beautiful Day and all along the roads I saw East Goshen residents, dressed for safety, cleaning up the area, so we can hold our heads up proudly when we tell people where we live.  I know it's not thankful Thursda...

I read an Article in the Philadelphia Inquirer yesterday written by Alan Heavens who has been writing about Real Estate for just about as long as I have been selling real estate.  The title of the Article is "Not Much of a Buyer's Market".  http://www.philly.com/inquirer/real_estate/42688487.html I had to chuckle to myself when I read it because it brought to mind that so much of the understanding that people who are buying Real Estate is about "EXPECTATION".  Is a Buyers' Market when you can buy a house at a real inexpensive price? Whenever we want something, when we have High Value for it, we always HOPE that it costs LESS because we want it.  It's human nature.  Real Estate is LOCAL, it 's about where you want to live and the "condition" is relavant to what you expect it to be like...

Over the past two days I went out and about previewing properties in some of the BEST neighborhoods of the school district.   Was I ever impressed!  When you see an average of 20 houses a week in your business, it is not too often that you get impressed, but I am impressed with what is out there for sale. I also checked the statistics of sales in our market area, specifically concentrating in the price range from $350 to $500K since that is the price range of nice single home in and around the borough of West Chester in the School District of West Chester. I saw a house on Taylors Mill Road that is in move in condition, it was redone from top to bottom, it is even staged both inside and out.  It is in a convenient location, it is going to sell!  It is beautiful. Another house, priced pe...

In another of the series of seminars that our brokers provide for us, today, Scott Einbinder, will present insight into today's pricing strategies, surviving and growing in the current market and how to plan and motivate yourself ever day.  RE/MAX PREFERRED A great big public thank you to my brokers, two very nice men, for providing me with such a wonderful place to work, alongside some of my fav...

This year Mayors For Meals was once again a major success, as over 1,000 mayors from the United States and Canada delivered meals with their local Meals On Wheels program to home bound seniors.  We had many great people visiting the home bound of Chester County today, not all of them mayors, by the way.  Some are city councilmen, township supervisors, commissioners, etc.  Right here in Goshen Towne, which is what the chapter that I oversee is called, we were proud to have Carmen Battavio, East Goshen Township Supervisor, and Kathi Cozzone, Chester County Commissioner.  Dave Rathburn, the driver for route 1 had the pleasure of taking Carmen Battavio around.  Carmen is an old and dear friend to an agent in my office.  He is also a township supervisor in my township and the owner of Battav...
