Testimonial from Jason Feinman, Realtor       As a Realtor, I am proud to have gotten to know Jason D'Amato of ComfortSpec through inspections on both homes I have listed, that other Realtors and clients searched for an inspector and utilized his services, and for an inspector that I personally recommended to buyers. It is Jason's attention to detail, getting into places that others can't or won't, and communication, both verbal and written, that sets Jason apart from other home inspectors. - Jason Feinman   If you have a need for a home inspection anywhere throught the Poconos or Lehigh Valley, such as in Stroudsburg, East Stroudsburg, Allentown, Bethlehem, etc., call Jason today at 610-895-4153 or visit him on the web at www.comfortspecpa.com

One of my favorite places to dine for a special occassion is the Stone Bar Inn. It is located on Business Road 209 (Hamilton East) in Stroudsburg. Owned by executive chef Andrew Moore, the Stone Bar Inn is named for the restaurants' bar which is made out of river stone. It is really cool and unique. But besides great ambiance, is great food that includes a menu that is sure to please everyone. Steaks and chops along with local game such as venison and seafood favorites such as mussels, are all expertly prepared and you get large portions. Prices are reasonable considering the portion sizes but it is toward the higher end of the price range of most restaurants. As a former chef myself, I really appreciate the thought that goes into the menu as well as how well the food tastes and it...

I seem to be making a lot of fast friends these days. So many very special people keep popping into my life in droves it seems. I recently blogged about one in my Humble Pie series but there have been many more. I have a business associate that I know through a local networking group. We were talking one day last year about our kids and it turns out he has a daughter who is 15, same age as my son and they are both very passionate about music. He owns a video production company and recording studio in Stroudsburg PA, Tera Productions,...very cool so he suggest we get the kids together. Well, life happens and finally a year later, last Saturday we go over to see his studio. His house and studio were like a fairytale!  It turns out that he is an artist and a designer as well and his lower ...

I have had the pleasure to have dined at Thai Thani for several years now and have never been disappointed. The place is a palace, like it was taken directly from Thailand, and overlooks the Cherry Valley section of Stroudsburg. I am finally getting around to doing a review after dining there tonight and it was as good as ever. I had the special occasion of dining with my father on this night and we were greeted nicely by our hostess. The booths and tables and the dining area is very large and comfortable. You can really spread out here. We started off with drinks. I had Thai Thani's signature Mai Tai, which was served in a nice tall glass that seemed to go on for ever. Made with just enough ice to keep cold, yet enjoy the whole drink without having all ice and no drink. My dad had...

I had the pleasure to attend two events at Liquid within a week after never having been there before. When you have a young son, drinking establishments are not usually on the menu. However, Liquid is a lot more than just drinks although it isn't a "family" restaurant per se. Now the drinks, especially the martinis, are fantastic. I had a "Chocolate Covered Banana" martini that was delicious. It tasted just like a chocolate covered banana. While events aren't always the truest test of an establishment, the consistency shown in the food that was served (especially the Swedish Meatballs) was fantastic. Now I don't remember what was on the regular menu, but I have to say if it was anything like what I was gorging myself on, then you have to make Liquid a must go. Liquid has now been o...

The anatomy of a low cost, High style Staging in the Poconos! Staging Homes for Homeowners and Real Estate Investors in the Poconos doesn't necessarily need to be a "High End" affair...but it should be "High Style!" in order to get the best results. Showing off a home by creating an environment that buyers will have an emotional connection to is the key to selling faster and for more money in this competitive real estate market. At Apostle Art Home staging & Design, our mission is to help increase appeal without breaking our clients bank. We could certainly set up each property as if it were a model home but in our experience, most properties do not require that level of investment in order to get great results. Of course, price point does play a role. If you are selling in a higher pr...

I was so looking forward to today knowing it was going to be warmer than it has been for weeks here in the Poconos. While the cold and snow is great for the skiers... we had 2 properties to de-stage so the milder temperatures were a much welcome and anticipated blessing. So, still rubbing the sand out of my eyes and stumbling to the sliding door on my upper deck, I peeled back the curtain to be greeted by the day and this was my  "Good Morning"... Pinks and purples in full array...All I could think was that this was God's Valentine...His way of saying "I LOVE YOU!" What better way to start the day? LOVE, SWEET, LOVE!!! There is nothing more Sacred... ...or more beautiful... ...Than LOVE!  Happy Valentine's Day...and Thank You God!! ( The Pocono Mountains, PA is an incredibly, inspiring ...

Let's take a look at even more local real estate data within Monroe County, and talk about Stroudsburg.  The Borough of Stroudsburg is the county seat, and has a beautiful downtown and courthouse square! It is also just the 4th exit off Route 80 as you travel west from New Jersey, making it an easy commuting location. In 2010, the average sold price in the Borough of Stroudsburg for residential homes was $142,237, which is nearly 7.5% less than the county average. However, the average days on the market in the borough was 101, compared to the county average of 125. And although the average sale price has dropped nearly 23% from 2009, it continues to be a desirable place to live, due to all of the conveniences it offers. Because the borough is a smaller area compared to some of the towns...

I am proud to announce my use of Constant Contact as the source for all my business related e-mail communications.      I diligently worked with my client for over a year and a half to get a grand total of one offer on his home and then when I finally did, I though that this was going to go nice and smooth. Price was great only $19,000 of a greatly reduced list price, well within what the home is worth in this market. It started off great, they (Bank Of America) were very responsive and they weren't the problem (or so I thought). They gave a phony counter offer based on what THEY thought other interested parties (investors, mortgage insurer and God knows who else) would accept (unbeknown to me until I just asked the negotiator where the came up with the initial counter offer numbers). That is how they do business? So they (the mortgage insurer) can come back with an amount much larger than both the ...

We got a bit of the white stuff yesterday...about 6-8 inches. It was the light and fluffy kind...not great for snowballs but perfect for shoveling...especially when your driveway is over 70 feet long like mine!!! So my husband sets out, shovel in hand...he is on a mission. I come out to help...I am on a mission too... ...to take photos of the deer tracks on the lawn! Just kidding...I took the photos AFTER I helped shovel...LOL!! So he starts blasting through, throwing snow here, throwing it there, he wants to get out! What do I do? I methodically choose a starting point, develop a plan of action and proceed to remove the white stuff in a highly organized fashion. Line by line, row by row, making sure it is cleared right up to the rocks that line the driveway forming a wall on either sid...

I recently closed with a buyer on a Bank of America short sale in less than 3 months and are moving well with my seller only one month in. This is a sharp contrast to last year when the reports were short sales taking 6 months or more and then deals falling apart at the closing table. I know that this may not be reflective of other banks and/or transactions and each situation is different, but I have to report that I am having decent experiences working on these deals recently.

If you are proficient at using the internet, having a website, using links, syndication and other online activities to build your business online, you may come across a problem should you decide to change companies. That problem is trying to correct and/or remove information tying you to your previous company(ies) and possibly getting in trouble for mis-representation. I spoke with my office manager about it and he said that as long as I did my due diligence and made an effort to correct it, then no liability can found as a result of a third party. With dozens of links that come up in a Google search, there is no humanly way possible to address them all. Plus I still get business from them, which means "tough tucchus" to everyone else. Sorry. :)
