      November 15 at 1:30 PM   Solanco Historical Society will present a program titled   "Colonel Guy Haines Stubbs Memoirs of a WWII POW Survivor"   The program will be presented by Peg Stubbs Showalter, the niece of Colonel Stubbs. Stubbs was serving in the Army in the Philippines when the Japanese captured the islands in 1942. Colonel Stubbs survived the Bataan Death March and was imprisoned in several POW camps.   The  Historical Society is located at 1932 Robert Fulton Highway (Route 222) Quarryville, PA   The program is free and open to the public, but donations are welcome. The Quarryville PA Lions Club wants to erect a memorial carrying the names of those killed in Korea, Vietnam and more recent wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.                     The new memorial will be located near the newly restored pillars at the entrance to Memorial Park. The pillars contain the names of those killed in World Wars I & II.   Jo Black, past president of the Lions says getting the information will take time.
