This question goes out to all mortgage companies that specialize in the vaction home sector. I ran into a road block this past week.  To All, The government has passed a new law with regards to appraisal orders from mortgage companies. This change affects all mortgage lenders and mortgage brokers across the board.All mortgage companies and loan officers can no longer can place an order for an appraisal with a specific appraisal company. As of Friday, May 1st, 2009, all appraisers will be randomly selected, from an appraisal service, to perform the appraisal required for the purchase or refinance of a home.Our bank will be setting up a new department specifically designed to handle all our appraisal requests.     When I first became a REALTOR® I had to spend a two days in class and then we had a graduation. I paid an initial fee and every year after I have paid an annual fee. It was explainted to me this gives me the right to use the word REALTOR® and logo. We pay all this money for all of our dues and continuing education and there are agents out there bucking the systems.
