Looks like the recession is effecting baseball.  New York Yankees cut some season ticket prices for 2010. The Yankees are cutting the prices of some of their most expensive season tickets for 2010. The price of the best field-level seats will drop from US$325 to $250 or $235 as part of season plans, the team said late Tuesday night. A total of 3,400 field-level seats will have lower prices. Those seats cost $375 for individual games this year. The Pocono Record indicated that the Pocono's this year got hit with two things during the summer tourist season. Recession #1, and the weather #2. One major factor can be overcome but two makes it very difficult. That's what has been happening since Memorial Day. They say local resorts and attractions have been dealing with the worst economic times in decades. The National Weather Service measured precipitation at Mount Pocono almost 7 inches above the norm, almost 20 inches of rain. More than half of the days from June through August had at least a trace of rain, including 23 of the 30 days in June. The longest streak of days without rain only hit six, from Aug. 3 to 8.  Local News Indicated that six companies recalled millions of window blinds and shades, following the deaths of three children who got caught in cords that help the coverings move up and down. The recalls, announced today by the Consumer Product Safety Commission, involve some big-name companies, including Pottery Barn Kids and IKEA as well as smaller companies that sold their window covers at retailers such as Target. No deaths were associated with the blinds and shades from Pottery Barn Kids and IKEA, but CPSC says there have been six reports of children becoming entangled in the inner cord of the Pottery Barn Kids shades.
