I was privileged enough to have received an invitation to the retirement party for Dave Evans, a lifelong banker and business associate and friend. The gala was hosted by Phoenixville Federal Bank & Trust, indicating the mutual respect and admiration accrued over Dave's many years of service. He leaves behind a well-trained staff of mortgage professionals who will surely carry on his legacy at the consumer-friendly, local banking institution, more affectionately know as Phoenix Fed.   Dave oversaw operations in the mortgage department at Phoenixville Federal Bank & Trust for many years.   He is an avid golfer and a 'not so shabby' tennis player, I'm told. I'm sure Dave will pursue both those interests with much rigor and enthusiasm now that he has retired. Travelling with his wife will ...

Last week we needed to go up to Lowes at Oaks and as it was a great weekend weather wise and it was our wedding anniversary we decided to find somewhere for breakfast on the way. We wanted somewhere different and a little funky. As Phoenixville could be on our way if we took backroads we thought we might find somewhere good to eat. We drove up over the hills and coming along Whitehorse Road to the junction with Route 23 I spy the Bookend Cafe out of the corner of my eye and through the buildings from the junction. I point it out to Trudy and she says looks great lets give it a try. So we pulled into the parking lot and liked what we saw. The food was great, and good enough that I went back this week with two of my sons for lunch and found out a little more. It has been open since Novemb...

Foreclosure Preview: Yesterday I had the chance to preview an upcoming foreclosure listing in the Winding River subdivision just north of Phoenixville Pennsylvania in Chester County.  Please be forewarned that this is a rougher video and the home has only been partially cleaned out, but this will provide you with a better idea of how the properties appear before they are put on the market.  You can hear some of the workers in the background.  This property should be updated and priced in the next week or so. River View Circle is another of Danielle Mateu's foreclosures located just north of downtown Phoenixville off Black Rock Rd in the Winding River subdivision.  This area of Phoenixville is surrounded on three sides by the Schuylkill River.  Winding River is adjacent to the Black Rock...
