Hey - I'm looking for some of that brownish-green stuff.  Yeah, I know it's pretty scarce around these parts.  But dude, I'm kind of desperate here.  Can you hook me up?  Please??  C'mon - you know what I'm talkin' about! Man, who knows where I can score some grass around here? Now, before you go calling the Narc Squad on me - I'm talking about grass as in lawn - the green stuff we enjoy around our house most of the year. The stuff that has been absent under the snow in the Philadelphia region for a month and a half, because that's how long we have been snow covered! But the sun and some milder weather have been doing their job in tandem - and the grass, brown and straggly as it may be, is starting to reappear.  Yay! Who would have thought that I could get a high off of the grass in  my...

With Valentine's Day swiftly approaching, here are a few romantic date night ideas in and around Montgomery County PA.   Whether you spend a lot or a little, the most important thing is taking time to be alone together and doing something out of the ordinary.  Leave plenty of time to talk and laugh together. From classic bar food to ultra-fine dining, you can head in any direction and find great food. We are trying 19 Bella in Cedars this weekend, but some of our favorites are Joseph Ambler Inn, William Penn Inn, Arpeggio, and just about every restaurant in Skippack. Go for a walk in the moonlight or for the more adventurous, try sledding or ice skating. Be sure to bring a Thermos of hot chocolate (maybe some Bailey's or Peppermint Schnapps to go with it).  Green Lane Park is a good spo...

With winter bearing down hard these days, heavy snowfalls are particularly damaging to trees, especially the evergreens which will hold the snow.  The limbs can easily bend and break.  Every year when the snow is heavy, trees are lost and damage is done to homes and cars from falling branches.   If your trees look like this, we recommend taking a long stick (such as a broom handle or better yet a ski pole - the basket helps grab the branches) or tying a rope around the tree and shake the snow loose from the branches.  You will see the branches instantly spring up once the snow comes off of them.  If you wait too long, some limbs will never spring back to their original stature.  You will have to stake them or replace them come Spring.  So take a walk around you house today and do you...
