Come one, come all for the 61st Annual Mardi Gras Parade in Lansdale, PA! SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 19, 2011  @ 1:00 PM The 61st annual Mardi Gras Parade will be held in downtown Lansdale on Saturday, November 19th.  The parade starts at Main Street and Mitchell Avenue at 1:00 PM and travels east on Main Street to Park Drive.  The parade ends at Memorial Park. "Holiday Sing-A-Long" is the theme of this year's parade. There will be lots of candy for the kids, local marching bands, floats, fire trucks and old fashioned cars.  The end of the parade is always Santa on a large sleigh.  A 61 year tradition in Lansdale - this parade has been beloved by area families for generations! RESTAURANT OF THE WEEK   Huey's Grill and Tavern   Great small town bar and restaurant with an atmosphere that can not be topped. The MOST ecclectic collection of area and philly memorabilia. A must to come during Halloween and Christmas to see the abundance of decorations. There is not a corner not decorated.   The food is always very good. You can get your traditional sandwiches or bar food, but there are great dinner items as well. My fav....the buffalo shrimp appetizer. My dinner choice is usually either the blue cheese burger or the Greek salad. My husband and I live in Lansdale, and find ourselves a lot of nights, not wanting to deal with dinner preparation. So a great local eatery is important to us. Toscano is always our first choice because we know the food is always good, the service is excellent. Saturday evenings you have the addition of live piano music. John makes you feel right at home.   My favorite are the gorgonzola purses in tomato cream sauce. The fried calamari is perfect, light, not too breaded and never chewy. All of these have occurred during the day. The actors have made entrance into the residence by prying locked or unlocked windows to the rear of the residence. The actors enter the residence in areas that are secluded. Some victims back windows were smashed or window air conditioners were removed. Residents with Ranch style or Cape Cod homes have been targeted. For a truly breathtaking display of 100-150 intricately carved pumpkins, visit Green Lane Road in Towamencin Townships after dark on October 29th. 30th and 31st.  The pumpkins are setup throughout the yard.  It is FREE and open to the public, rain or shine. For many years, this home has welcomed visitors to their yard.  They give out candy to the children who visit.  You will see the images carved into the pumpkins of famous figures such as Abraham Lincoln, Marilyn Monroe, Mickey Mouse, and even the Philadelphia Eagles Mascot.  You will also see cool figures such ghosts, ghouls, spiders, and black cats.  Come and count how many images you recognize.
