In State College we're blessed with a treasure only 30 miles away, Raystown Lake.  Raystown Lake makes for a great summertime weekend getaway whether it's for some time on the lake with a boat, a canoe, or a kayak or even just a camp site nearby.   Raystown Lake features 29,000 acres of land with an 8,000 acre lake. It is the largest lake that is entirely within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The lake was created by the US Army Corps of Engineers and was completed in 1973.  It features beaches, picnic areas, and boat launches.  There are boats available to rent of various size and speed.  From personal experience, it makes for a great weekend with friends to rent a boat for the day and head out on the lake for water skiing, tubing, and cliff jumping.  Just be on the lookout for "Rays... 05/19/2013
