Skywalker ~ What Goes Up Must Come Down From tiny seedlings to 70+ ft tree to pile of logs & sawdust It was not an esay decision to take down two beautiful trees but their proximity to the house and lack of sunlight on our roof meant it was time.  Last year our roofer recommended Skywalker Tree Service 814-434-3233 and yes, the name, Skywalker, fits his agility. Enjoy a Little Spring Bouquet Spring might be a little behind schedule in the northeast but I found a few tiny buds in my yard yesterday.  They weren't open yet, but I brought them inside where it is warm.  Look what I found on my window sill this morning!  Even my little frog is hanging out with the first blooms of spring.   Enjoy a Little Spring Bouquet

Under Cover Flowers ~ Snowy Blanket \ Under Cover Flowers ~ Snowy Blanket We have all heard too many compliants about lack of spring-like weather in the northeast, including Erie, PA, so I will just post this photo.    These are shoots from crocus bulbs I planted last fall.  Like these shoots we are all waiting patiently for spring to arrive, however the weatherman announced that spring is actually delayed.  Oh well, that is life in the northeast ~ but at least we don't have hurricanes and tornados . . . Okay it is not spring in the northeast or Erie, PA so I will go to Spring   Let's see where these ships are going. Looks sunny and warmer so I am ready to hop on board at least until spring arrives.  Would you like to come, too?   Okay, okay, I just had to review my vacation pictures to warm up after the local weatherman delivered the bad news.  Another ten days of winter for the northeast.   Let's escape.  Are you coming?

Dinosaurs ~ Tracy School ~ Erie, PA Dinosaurs ~ Tracy School ~ Erie, PA Four kindergarten classes at Tracy Elementary School, Erie/PA presented Dinosaur program with songs this afternoon.  Dinosaur was the culmination of month long project at Tracy School.  Following the program parents & grandparents were invited to tour the kindergarten classrooms to view student displays including their 'junk-a-saurs,'  a dinosaur made out of junk from each child's home.  Of course Jacob remembered he was supposed to make a 'junk-a-saur' at 8:30 last night so my daughter got him up a little early this morning.  The very charming art work next to his ~  well, the creator's mother admitted she had a 'lot' of help. (My grandson, Jacob, is fifth from left in back row with his hands on either side of his ...

Did You Spring Forward? Just in case you are not up yet to see the sunrise here's one . . .   It doesn't matter how often we are reminded to turn our clock forward or backwards there is someone in every group that misses every reminder.  Was that you? I am hoping that all the students in Real Estate Fundamentals class remembered to turn their clocks forward.  Class begins at 9:00 am.   Regroup & enjoy the day. Did You Spring Forward?

Sunrise over Atlantic Ocean ~ This Is Why We Drove 1,000+ Miles Sunrise over Atlantic Ocean ~ This Is Why We Drove 1,000+ Miles Over time I have posted many sunrise and sunset pictures, but for me nothing surpasses seeing the sun rise over the Atlantic Ocean.  Since Dave is not a morning person he appreciates me capturing nature's beauty on camera.  Dave's reason for driving 1000+ miles . . . Snow ~ Welcome Home to Western Pennyslvania  Allegheny Mt Tunnel at Somerset, PA (about halfway across PA turnpike) Snow, snow and more snow.  Welcome home to western Pennsylvania to more snow. It was snowing when Dave & I left Erie, PA three weeks ago and it was snowing when we reached western PA this afternoon.  The Allegheny Mountains, part of the Appalachian Mts, keeps the snow west of the mountains.  Then of course Lake Erie, where we live, adds another dimension to the snow total with 'lake effect' snow.  So far this season 80+ inches.  Fortunately we were gone and missed a few inches, however the temperature was only 25 degrees this evening.  Brr!!  It will take awhile for my body to adjust.  Now I need to regroup quickly and be ready to teach a Real Estate class tomorrow, March ...

Wonder What's for Lunch??? Great Blue Herons are such elegant birds. I was amazed to be able to capture him/her on camera.  Living along Trout Run, about a mile from Lake Erie, we often have Herons looking for lunch in the stream. Over the years we have had many friends and clients looking for similar country-like property, but ours is not for sale. If you are thinking of career in Real Estate, join me next weekend in Real Estate Fundamentals class. www.alankells.com March 9, 10 and March 23, 24 9-4:30 Cost $178 2820 W. 21st Street Erie, PA 16506

Are You Thinking SPRING? Keep in mind that Punxytauwny Phil did not see his shadow on Februuary 2nd which forecasts an early spring.   Well, I am ready for SPRING.  Are you ready for SPRING? And, SPRING it the busiest time in Real Estate.  Are you ready to begin your new career  as Real Estate agent?

Get Healthy Challenge--Walk with a Friend Need motivation? Invite a friend to walk with you. On recent post Margaret Rome said that she planned to a walk on Tuesday & Thursday.  I responded to Margaret saying that I would love to walk with her if we were closer. (She is in Baltimore and I am in Erie.)   Margaret responded back to me, "Let's talk while we walk," so we set Tuesday as our date to walk and talk. Since I live close to Lake Erie my favorite walk is to the lake.  Margaret & I had a great conversation as I walked to beach. Enjoy the view before we head home. Enjoy a Touch of Spring.  The Pennsylvania Punxsutawney Groundhog did not see his shadow last week so maybe most of the country will have early spring. Well, I can't wait so I just had to put together this beautiful basket of pansies.  Enjoy!!! BTW  I live in Erie, PA where we average 101 inches snow during winter, but I refuse to let the weather prevent me from enjoying life. Never fear, no matter what the calendar says it can be spring in your own mind. Enjoy a Touch of Spring (Written with my new iPad including uploading photo that was taken with my cell phone.)
