Every once in a while I catch a trivia section on a local Philadelphia radio station where a story may be read from a local paper from years ago or details given of something that was aired on the radio years ago. Recently I found out that Bill Haley of Bill Haley and His Comets had a connection to Delaware County.I looked Bill Haley up on Wikipedia and sure enough there were two ways he was connected to Delaware County.First, when he was seven years old his parents moved to Boothwyn, Bethel Township where he spent his early years until he left home as a teenager to go on the road to find himself. Toby Farms' home values have seen a steady rise over the last decade in Delaware County PA.Located in Chester Township in lower Delaware County PA, Toby Farms has been a popular housing choice for years. Today is a Federal Holiday marking the birthday of Martin Luther King Jr.  Each January holiday I am reminded of the statue of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. that is located in a park in Chester, Delaware County, PA.  Dr. King was a theological student in Chester from 1948 to 1951.Back in 2008, a larger than life sculpture was erected in honor of Dr. King in Veterans Memorial Park next to the J Lewis Crozer Library on 620 Engle Street.  If you have never seen this piece of art, it is well worth the time.  There are benches for sitting and the library is always a good place to visit. 01/15/2018
