Keys, we all have them, we all need them.We need keys to open all sorts of things like, the front door to our homes, our cars, a padlock on our bikes, the list can go on and on.When a buyer purchases a house it is a good idea to change the locks to the house right away. Who knows who has a spare key, maybe a neighbor or a relative who comes into town once in a while. Don’t take any chances, change the locks and get new keys right away. Make a few spare keys for future use as well. Give yourself peace of mind.I remember years ago my parents house had a simple lock on the front door, an old door. Mother's Day is a great day to celebrate all the women in our lives past and present who have been nurturing to us. Of course our mother's are in the spot light, yet there can be other nurturing women who can fill that space also, like an aunt, a sister, a teacher, a good friend, etc.. Yesterday I got my first sighting of a hummingbird at our feeder for this season!At first, I thought it was one of those carpenter bees that have been buzzing around, but then I realized it stopped for a drink at the feeder I put out the other day.  Luckily, I had a camera close by!The juncos which have been here since November, seem to have departed and headed north over the weekend.  I have not seen them in a few days.  I was continuing to put out birdseed for the juncos until they left.  After a few years of personal debate, I made a decision to stop putting out bird seed altogether once my supply is depleted this season and bugs are in abundance, since the house sparrows have just taken over everything.  They’ve already had their first set of babies which have visited the feeder, an...

This morning when I pulled the curtains aside to see what was happening out near the bird feeders, there was a rather large white critter on the back fence. At first I thought is was a huddle of squirrels, but then realized it was a rather large possum! I have not seen them all winter. They are back in the area it seems.Other signs of the seasons changing…daffodils are just starting to open, hyacinths have just pushed through the soil, and today I saw the first forsythia flower.
