The Year to Date Average Sold Price for 2013 is $105k, down 17% from $127k for 2012.   This Average Sold Price is still well below the Average List Price of $226k.   The Number of Homes Sold in Bartonsville PA for June of 2013 was 3, UP from the 1 sold for June of 2012.  We see that the year to date number of homes sold in Bartonsville went UP considerably to 13 homes for 2013 versus 5 for year to date in 2012. Let's take a look at the Hamilton Township Market Summary Year To Date (8/12)for the Poconos of PA   In reviewing the MARKET SUMMARY FOR HAMILTON TOWNSHIP PA we first look at the Number of Listings.  The # of Active Listings, the # of Pended Listings and the # of Sold Listings year to date.  As we look at the chart below we see that the number of Active Listings greatly outweighs the number of Pended and Sold listings.  This tells us we are in a Buyer's Market. Next we'll take at look at the Listing Prices for those Active, Pended and Sold listings.  This one, unfortunately is a little harder to follow as our MLS has incomplete data in their statistics for this Category.        Big Daddy's Family BBQ was formerly Big Daddy's Family Restaurant in Mt. Pocono just across from Mt. Airy Casino until a fire destroyed the location. Fortunately, the owners were able to rebuild and rebuild they did with a beautiful restaurant located on Route 611 in Bartonsville next to the Comfort Inn. Everything about Big Daddy's is diffferent and most of it is for the better. The atmosphere and ambiance are terrific as they have a nice country/western saloon called "The Barn" in a seperate section of the restaurant and they have lots of different entertainment from karaoke to line dancing. A big day in Bartonsville today! At 8am, the new Giant grocery stored opened their doors! Located where the old truck stop was, it is prime location, nestled near Routes 80, 611 & 33.  It looks like a large store as I drive by! There is also a new Red Lobster located in the same complex, which should be opening soon. The Giant hired 240 full and part time employees! More good news for the Poconos! 11/04/2009

     Yuppy Puppy is a new pet store that opened up in the Bartonsville Plaza on Rt. 611 recently. They feature birds, rabbits, hamsters, ferrets, chinchillas and puppies of different breeds. Yuppy Puppy has these animals for sale and claim they are all raised by individual local breeders, not "puppy farms". As I looked around there were toys and useful accessories for our furry friends and the staff was helpful. The animals all seemed to be well cared for and happy, if not scared a little bit at all the fuss over them. I thought the prices for some of the animals were a bit much, and I think that adopting a young puppy or animal from a rescue shelter is more helpful, but that said, Yuppy Puppy is a nice store and a good place to purchase a pet.      Jimmy's Brick Oven Pizza is tucked away in a small plaza between Studebakers Restaurant and the Bartonsville Plaza where Moe's Southwest Grill is located. You blink or go to fast and you will miss it, and that would be a shame because I think he makes the best pizza in the Poconos. An authentic wood burning brick over produces a thin, crispy crust, but his sauce and fresh mozzerella all combine for the best pizza this side of New York.      Ok, this is not Moe the Bartender from "The Simpsons", that gives Homer nightmares in the episode "The Flaming Moe". I want to introduce you to Moe's Southwest Grill, which recently opened it's doors in Bartonsville. I had heard of Moe's as far back as 4 years ago, when I was living in East Meadow, Long Island, but the restaurant did not take hold and folded it's doors. Moe's failure then was no fault of its' own. The food is great, and so are the prices. Everything is made in front of you by a friendly staff that will say "Welcome to Moe's!", when you come in the door.
