Fight Hunger and Poverty in Wilsonville COMMUNITY RUMMAGE SALE Hosted by Grace Chapel   Over the last four years $50,000 was raised to fight hunger and poverty in Wilsonville through this rummage sale.  100% of the profits from the Wilsonville Rummage Sale go to addressing the issues of HUNGER and POVERTY in our community and last year this included glasses for kids who cannot afford them, food for the food bank, clothing, school supplies and so much more. This is a great way to clear out your own clutter, things no longer of use to you, things that someone else might treasure.  We all know one person's clutter may be someone else's treasure. Sometimes we just cannot write a check or donate money that we might need for groceries or to pay bills to keep the heat on, but we can donate no ...

Signed, Funded and Recorded....And Now For... The Rest of The Story My buyer and I researched, studied and looked for just the right property for at least a year and a half.  We had a certain price range to consider, and wondered when my client's home would sell.  She owned the house with her ex husband so only part of the proceeds would be hers, and in this market who knew what the home would actually bring.  But we were patient and just looked and researched different areas.  Her home was not listed with me but I could see the price was too high and not being marketed very well, but it was not my place to say, so of course I kept quiet.  Her home was on the market for over a year and a half and finally after one price adjustment, no opens, they finally decided to change Realtors.  A w...

THE GREATEST LOVE OF ALL This song has been one of my very favorites and has meant so much to me in just the words alone.  Whitney's rendition is so powerful, beautiful and meaningful to me today just as it was the first time I heard it by Tommy Edwards all those many years ago.  Happy Valentine's Day to all of you who might read this post and those who might not.

A GYM FULL OF KIDS, A BASKETBALL GAME AND A NEW TRADITION ~ THE SILENT TREATMENT ~   The Wilsonville High School's basketball team began a new tradition of "Silent Night" last Friday night when they played rival Sherwood High School.   Can you imagine sitting at a good basketball game, talented ball players running up and down the court, adrenaline running amok, points being scored and getting the silent treatment?  What would you think if you did not understand what was happening. The crowd is to remain silent until the Wildcats score their 10th point!  Well here it is and once the team scores that 10th point the object is to have the crowd go into a loud roar, be a little wild and scream for the rest of the game.  Pretty cool and obviously very fun.  Kids !

HOW DO PEOPLE VIEW YOU, HOW DO YOU APPEAR TO OTHERS, DO YOU SAY WHAT YOU MEAN AND MEAN WHAT YOU SAY These are pretty large thoughts don't you believe? I often wonder, how people view me,  do they just see what is on top or do they look at a deeper level and actually see or understand at least part of who I am.  How do I appear to others, do I present myself well in different scenarios, am I cool, calm and collected if the situation is difficult.  Do I appear happy, glad to see you when you meet me.  Am I believable, do I appear to say what I mean and mean what I say, are my words revealing who I am in a good way?  Today, in the world there are sources that give you all kinds of information, from the Internet to political ads tearing someone to shreds to gossip that tears peoples' reput...

When Unfortunate Events Happen In Your Own Neighborhood We live in a very nice and fairly quiet neighborhood that began building out in 1991.  It was carved out of orchards and homes were built in phases as they are with pretty much all developments.    Our school district is very desired and ranked as one of the highest in the state, with nice schools and good sports teams.  The Median Household Income Demographics for my neighborhood according to zip code ranges from $67,000 to 72,000. We are in the 85% percentile nationally and 93% percentile state wide.   Our town of Wilsonville, has good businesses, friendly people and frankly people who care about their city, it is on the smaller side, 19,509 in the census year of 2010.  We are ever growing and working to make sure our city is the...

Finding The Courage to Change Your Life Relates to All Of Us It is always easier to go with the status quo, doing what we have always done and listening to our fears instead of hearing the truth we know inside and gathering up the courage to act.  I believe regardless of what we are doing whether it is real estate trying to make a living, deciding to take a risk and do something different or just stay where we are in life, it all takes courage. The definition of courage as defined in Webster's New World Dictionary says: " 1. The attitude of facing and dealing with anything recognized as dangerous, difficult or painful instead of withdrawing from it; the quality of being fearless or brave, valor     2.) mind, purpose, spirit - the courage of one's convictions, the courage to do what ...

Some of the Photos I Have Been Seeing on MLS....Oh My !    Today I was researching the MLS for one of my buyers and I am pretty amazed at the photos I have been seeing in the listings. I research the MLS each day for new listings, price changes, sold, pending  and  what I have been seeing in the photo section are photos that leave a lot to be desired.  Sometimes I think no photo is better than photos that are dark, where one can barely see what is in the room let alone a room that is probably actually inviting.       Oh this is difficult to See    A Better View, not perfect a little bright, but at least you can see the room  Photos of the bed.  What? I want to see as much of the bedroom as possible, not only the bed.   Photos of the toilet, and many with the lid up, another what are...

The Christmas Angel's Prayer Written by Mary Stewart, 2002   This is a poem I wrote several years ago for a painting I did especially for the Christmas Season of that year.  It was a painting of an Angel and unfortunately I did not photograph the painting, but I did keep the poem, so I am sharing it with all of you wishing you a Very Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, whatever your religious belief may be. I hope this month is especially full of happiness, joy and family or friends bringing you into the New Year in a Beautiful Way.

WHEELS AND EARS ~ A New and Valuable Service For The Elderly   A Safe Ride and A Second Set Of Ears   Have you had to accompany one of your parents to doctor appointments because they had no means of transportation to get to their appointment and you were the only one who either had the time or could do it at all.  Did you have to take time off from work or a busy schedule and sometimes it amounted to at least once or twice a week if it was physical therapy?     Did your parent have the transportation and they were dropped off at the doctors office but when they were through with the appointment had to wait a long time before the ride came back to get them and take them home.  This happens all too often, and that is how this wonderful service was born.   A Safe Ride and A Second...

A PLACE FOR OREGON VETERANS TO FIND OUT THEIR RIGHTS AND WHAT THEIR RESOURCES ARE   This website is one I receive every month and have found lots of information that has been pertinent.  They let you share it and I am sharing it with all of you, I hope you pass it on if you see it might be useful. We are so fortunate for our Armed Forces and we need to take good care of  our veterans when they return home and their families when they are away.  It is not an easy life for any of them.  They have given more than one could ever imagine or at least more than I could ever imagine.       DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE OFFICE OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL   November 11, 2011         Greetings!     THIS IS MOST UNBELIEVABLE ~ TALK ABOUT FUTURISTIC   I opened an email article from the National Association of Realtors "What Does The Future Hold?" A technology article giving us a look at what Microsoft, through its office products division, is imaging the near future and how people will get things done in the next 10 to 15 years.  Quite the video, just wanted to share.  Perhaps not so far off?  What do you think?

THE FALL STREETS OF WILSONVILLE     These are the streets I drive every day and they are bursting with color and have been for a couple of weeks.  It won't last long as Winter begins to take over, but for now it is a beautiful pallet of yellows, oranges, reds, purples and greens.   The video is a little long, and I apologize for that, I am working on my skills to keep it short, just did not happen this time and I could not find the way to change it.   I hope you enjoy the Streets of Wilsonville as much as I do.
